Military Arms Channel - aka Sturmgewehre

Postby Jgulbs on Thu Jan 03, 2013 3:19 pm

Has anyone had the chance to check out the Military Arms Channel on the 'Tubes?

If you haven't already, you gotta check it out, Tim knows his stuff, is a former Marine and makes great videos. Lately, he has begun posting fantastic videos regarding the politics of gun ownership.

I would HIGHLY recommend checking out his channel!

I stopped watching MAC after he promoted companies with horrible "craftsmanship".

You were already thrashed for it on M4Carbine.net plenty.

I have no interest in littering a local forum with your "defense".

Oh yes, Windham Weaponry. When you find an actual owner of a Windham Weaponry that shares your opinion that they're poorly made rifles, please share their comments.

In fairness, you made a public accusation, and a public response was made.
If this guy is doing something nefarious, please enlighten us.

The "nefarious" act I'm being accused of is liking my Windham rifles.

I own (3) Windham Rifles and have found them to be good performers that have a nice finish, good fit and have been very reliable. My positive review of their products angered a few M4C guys who see Windham rifles as being worthless and of poor quality. Not surprisingly none of them own a Windham rifle including, I suspect, t140.

When is the last time you read an owner posting on this forum or elsewhere that their Windham rifle was poorly made or was causing them problems or that the Windham staff were unhelpful or rude to them? I've yet to see any such comments.

Tim –

I thoroughly enjoy the no-nonsense, level-headed, reasonable, logical, fair and educational approach that you take in not only your reviews, but your other videos as well. Even more than all that, I appreciate everything you are doing to inform both the gunners and non-gunners alike.

Keep up the great work - not all gun forum members are trolls, who simply form opinions based on what other troll "experts" say, rather than forming an opinion on personal experience – approximately 2% of us still use our own brain and experience. ;)

As you state in most of your videos, it’s your “opinion”, and nothing else.

:exactly:

Keep up the good work Tim. Your videos are top quality, and I always look forward to seeing the next one.

I trust your opinion on Windham ARs (and everything else) far more than the M4C crowd that beats the Colt/BCM drums and ignores all others. Not a knock against Colt or BCM, just against their worshipers.

Thanks guys.

I do believe my opinions are just that, opinions formed from my own personal experience. I don't profess to be an expert in every firearms related field and I attempt to be as humble as possible. All I can do is pass along my personal experiences with products I personally invest in. I have absolutely nothing to gain from doing a favorable review. Actually, I've found my negative reviews generate more traffic and thus more income through Google Adsense. :D It's strange how people seem to enjoy the negative more than the positive at times, but I digress.

Fortunately I've had to deal with very few trolls.

I prefer Colt rifles, I've said that many times. But not everyone can afford a Colt and quite honestly not every casual shooter needs a Colt (or BCM, DD, Noveske, LMT, LWRC, etc.). Some would say that the Windham rifles aren't "combat worthy". I find this to be interesting for two reasons. First, many of those worried about a rifles combat worthiness will *NEVER* take their rifle into harms way. At most it will wind up on a square range or at a rifle course. Secondly, the guys at Academi told me they have Windham rifles in inventory and use them frequently. If they're not combat worthy, one of the largest contracting companies in the US would find that to be news to them.

I like Colt because my first AR was a Colt and I've had many of them over the years. I'm comfortable with them. I now shoot my WW rifles more than the other AR's because they are affordable and they do work so well. My MPC now has an Osprey gas piston kit in it for testing and it's running perfectly. I will torture the snot out of that rifle in the coming year... it should make for some interesting video. :)

Anyway, thanks again for the support guys.

I like his vids because he doesnt seem to ever have an axe to grind. Very non-judgemental and honest. Plus he has tons of fun gear to play with!
