Is the panic over?

Postby heavygunner on Fri Jan 18, 2013 1:56 pm

I actually found some Federal lake city xm80cs 149gr today and was able to order 120 rds. So I hope all the people that are in the crazy stage are letting up and let me get back to my hoarding LoL :gun:

I hope it gets back to the good old days (last month) soon... the day I see a Ruger 10/22 magazine on the shelf is the day I know things are calming down.

Until then, you just got lucky.

I hear ya there, I went to FF in carver today still wiped out and people lining up to buy pistols and Aks,but I have better luck buying ammo online way better selection but the shipping gets a little expensive but I guess that's the price you pay. I've been looking for 308 ammo for awhile.

You know, I thought the panic was starting to calm down and then looked at gunbroker listings. Holy ****.
Larue OBR rifles going for ~$7k. Stripped Larue lowers going for well over $1k. DPMS AR15s that you could have gotten a couple months ago for $600 are exceeding $1500 now. A rifle that I built for $1500 last year could get me well over $5000 if I sold it now. Even WASR 10s are peaking over $1k.

Insanity.

You're just lucky.

I'll know the panic is on the way out when I can buy an AR upper from an online vendor or see one in my LGS.

Lowers will be the last thing to return to normal.

It's just hit or miss when you go buy stuff right now. I can't find the three parts I need to finish an AR build at the same place, but can find two of the three about anywhere I look. I was at Scheels in St Cloud last night, and they were stocking shelves with various mags, which I am sure will be gone by tomorrow.

The panic may not be over, but I think stores are starting to keep up a little better now. FF's around have some magazines again, even if there is 1 limit per customer...

Gunbroker is still going nuts. $50 pmags all over and people are paying that.

I'm curious what I could sell the poodle shooter for. Noveske Gen 2 lower, White Oak barrel, shoots into a dime... Yeah, I'm not selling it.
