Firearm picture thread?

Postby optimusglen on Wed Jan 23, 2013 1:24 pm

Please forgive me if there is a thread for this already, I couldn't find one.

Lets see some photos of either firearms you've seen online, firearms you own, or firearms you used to own before it was lost in a boating accident.

Details or info if you're comfortable with it, otherwise no big deal.

First up!

Nice AR in the first photo! I have a question that's been bugging me for a long time and has deterred me from buying an AR. With the scope mounted up so high on top of the carry handle, just exactly where/how do you plant your cheek against the butt stock to squeeze off an accurate shot??

Funny you mention that, I was looking around for a new flat top upper today to bring my optics down. As it sits currently the iron sights are useless.

Even though this setup is kind of odd looking with the optics so high, it's actually not bad comfort wise.

To answer your question of where/how I plant my cheek on the stock, I rest the lower portion of my cheek/chin as opposed to up by the cheek bone. Hope that clarifies it.

edit: I've looked at cheek risers, I may try one of those out but not many are compatible with the AR charging handle.

These two are my favorites. I prefer the revolvers over semiautomatics. I spend a lot of time in remote areas, both for work and fun.
