What will you stock up on after the firearmsageddon?

Postby ShaneInMN on Wed Jan 23, 2013 7:32 pm

We're all looking online, at our local gun shops, sports centers, nothings in stock, everythings WAY overpriced. Some of us are weary and spending a premium, sometimes 2-3x the retail price, others of us are waiting it out in hopes that all this mess will fade away.

My question is...Once all of this firearms debacle with the government is over and done with, assuming things go in our favor, meaning, no change to the current laws, what do you plan on purchasing and stocking up on?

For me, I would like to have some more 17 round clips for my G17, possibly an AR-15 223 with a 22LR conversion and a few 25-30 round mags for each caliber.

Well as much as all this stuff sucks I try to not let it get the best of me. At the end of the day you still gotta pay your bills. As much as I would like to go out and buy an AR and some mags and ammo, I just don't have $5000 to do that right now. I'm just hoping everything goes our way and I can point and laugh at all the guys with a bunch of over priced ammo and mags.

Not a damn thing, gun wise. I have all of the firearms I need. What I will do is stock up on FN 5.7 x 28 ammo when it becomes available again.

The debacle will never be over. I will stock up on boat plugs.

I stocked up during/after the last "crisis." So I have enough powder, primers, ah maybe could use more bullets, but I think SOME bullets will be available and I'm not too fussy over lead or jacketed. I DO have a good stock of the large cal bullets, .44, .50 AE, and 500 mag. Could use some .22lr but I think I'll have quite a bit to shoot for awhile.

I didn't know 5.7x28 was unavailable. It's a fun gun to shoot, and even more fun to reload. Very time consuming and EXTRA care is needed to make sure the brass is not damaged and the neck is setback. Other than .357 sig I find it the toughest caliber that I reload. But I've never had issue.

5.7 x 28 hasn't been available for a while. I have some, but not a lot. Shot this today.

I'll probably end up going for 100 pmags, 100 circle 10 mags and a ton of ammo. Purchases will be slow and take me years to get to what I'm thinking of getting, but it should be a good investment.

Doubt I'd get any new firearms.

Just like with the 08 panic, when all this insanity subsides and the market is flooded from ramped up production, spouse induced buyer's remorse, and people selling all their overpriced stuff to pay down the credit card bills they can't afford, I suspect there will be lots of good deals to be had.

Then I'll resume stocking up on ammo.

I'm not doing any shooting until things settle down. I plan to pick up a Marlin 60 this year. I would love a Glock 36, although it's probably not in the budget. Other than that, ammo.

+1.
