A Bloggers Take On Your Rights

Slightly offensive at points and starts to go off the deep end towards the end but entertaining.

I agree 100% with Williamson. My gay nephew is getting this emailed to him. Anti-gunner progressive to the max. I supported him and my gay neigbors during the whole gay marriage bs. They don't talk to me any more since they found out I carry.

"At the time the Constitution was written, the weapons in question were muskets."

My answer to this one is always:

"I'll exercise my 2A rights with a musket when you exercie your 1A rights with a quill pen and parchment or on a soap box in the town square."

I don't agree with all the rights he supported (but I do most of them). I do like the article though, and how he calls out the liberals for their sudden reversal on personal choices and lifestyles just because they don't like it.

Did you read the article? He wasn't advancing the idea that we should be restricted because of that fact.

His point was "Ok, if you go with that, then women can't work, gay marriage is not ok, and..." as he lists facts of life from that time as well. In other words, his argument was much like yours.

I did read the article, every word. And I know his argument was much like mine, that's why I related my little story.

Good essay. BTW, Micheal Z Williamson has written some IMO enjoyable fiction with a libertarian and/or military viewpoint. My favorite is his science fiction novels Freehold and The Weapon, but he also has a decent series of novels about a current era sniper team.
