A guy over on ARFcom posted a picture of his order that was on backorder for 2 months. He got 150,000 Small rifle primers and 39,000 55g .224 bullets........I think that is the proper definition of hoarding

And in the future, the kind of thing that will get you a courtesy call from the ATF. Or worse.

Should have ordered equal number of components.
IIrc its 40k per hazmat fee so he should have ordered 160k
If I could still find someone with Fed SP for $25k I would take another 2-3-4 hazmats

I couldn't hoard even if i had the money to, with the market condition the way that it is. I found my first box of pdx1 today, afraid to even test them since i don't have any other SD rounds for the 9.

What else are you going to do with them if you dont fire them in your firearm to confirm function?

Just snagged 10 boxes (3250 rounds) of Federal .22 Auto Match for just a hair over normal retail. No hoarding here, just laying in a supply of accurate plinking ammo 8-)

I found 1k Federal LRM Primers at Ammocraft today. for $39. No issue with that, other than Federal's packaging. But I'll take them. Needed for the 500 mag. They had some new brass too but no .45 Super. That's my next project. They had a fair selection of powder but not much for bullets.

I think the definition of Hoarding is based on how much you shoot. If you have 1,000 rounds, and you just look at it and do not shoot it, that is hording. I shoot 300 rounds a week, so I do not think a couple of thousand rounds is hoarding since that is less than 2 months supply.

For the past few years I have been buying more than I have been shooting. Someone might call my reserves/stash "hoarding", I just call it preparing in advance for situations like we have now. (The news media would no doubt easily manage to make me sound like a crazed lunatic by totaling up what I keep on hand. And I'm fine with that.)

If they dont function in your gun (testing) there not going to be much good for sd anyway.
