FBI says Gun Offenders not Deterred by Laws

An FBI publication, "Violent Encounters, A Study of Felonious Assaults on
Our Nation's Law Enforcement Officers" curiously includes the following
paragraph:

"To protect all Americans, the federal government has passed many laws to
restrict and limit firearms purchases. The offenders in this research,
however, stated that none of these laws, nor statutes, deterred them."

Imagine that!

When the FBI publishes something, I think it is fair to say it is no
secret!

When aforementioned laws represent no deterrent, as they apparently don't,
one has to ask why liberal Democrats, ostensibly "to protect all Americans,"
relentlessly push for additional restrictions on legitimate ownership and
use of guns by law-abiding Americans, when they know full-well such
restrictions will not deter violent criminals.

Can we just say this?

They don't want violent criminals deterred! Liberals have a cozy,
mutually-beneficial relationship with violent criminals.

"The more crime you have, the more government you need." Violent
criminals keep the public terrorized, and terrorized citizens are easy to deceive
and manipulate. That dark principle has never been lost on totalitarian
wanna-bes, who live to lord it over people and care about nothing else.

"Did you ever read of a revolution brought about by the punishment of those
in power, inflicted by those who had no power at all?"

Patrick Henry

I am shocked, shocked I tell you <G>. I am so surprised I will be including this in my note to my MN and national representatives and senators.

Yet people say I'm nuts when I mention I want to abolish the background checks. ;)

Violent people will always be violent - doesn't matter the tool, it's the one using it that's always going to be the problem.

wonder how much that 'study' cost the taxpayers?

I would think a Google search on An FBI publication, "Violent Encounters, A Study of Felonious Assaults on
Our Nation's Law Enforcement Officers"
would lead you to the source document where John got his information.

Since I know John Farnam well for over 6 years,I do not back check what he writes, I trust that it is factually true and
quoted in the proper context. I don't have that faith in many people, but I do in John Farnam.

I assumed you got it from a blog post made by John and I was looking for a link to that. If it was sent directly to you then that wouldn't apply, so nevermind...

Thanks.

Created a free acount, logged in. Everytime I clicked on 'Download' or 'Read Full Version' buttons I am directed to the "Sign up to become a Premium Reader and access millions of documents" for $9/day, $9/month, or $4/month (billed once a year = $48) screen. We are getting different results. :?

I've had my account awhile, so maybe things have changed and I've been grandfathered in? I have something like that with my Dropbox account as well. You can shoot me an email if you want and I can email it to you.

That's Chapter 4, which is where the quote came from. For the entire report - and others - try this:

And in other news, scientists claim that water is indeed wet.
Dr. Obvee Uslee (PhD) testified that in tightly controlled experiments, 100 times out of 100, stepping into a running shower resulted in the subject showing strong evidence of being wet.
Dr. Uslee is confident that his findings will be supported by the scientific community.
