Today's TwinCities.com (Pioneer Press Online) has a poll about Texas's idea to allow teachers to have handguns in school. 74% in favor as of 8:40 am.

It would be nice if the poll gave some additional and pretty relevant info, like the fact that teachers wanting to do this must have a state permit and must undergo additional training provided by the district. I'd be willing to bet the poll would get more "good idea" votes if they were a bit less stingy with the details.

Yeah, but a lot of people taking this poll are likely to be "regular" folks who aren't either anti or pro. They're just reading the online paper and stumble across this, and based on the wording, they react viscerally, without a lot of thought. Kind of like swing voters in an election.

Looks like a lot of people are getting on there and taking it though! It was at less than 100 when I saw it earlier.
