And we ran some rounds through the Coonan, not evough to perform the presecribed "Break-in" but it ran fine so I don't know what I need to "break-in." Ran several loads all with 158g bullets and only 1 stovepipe, when my friend waws shooting. Nice load was 13.5g 2400, which I know isn't pushing the envelope at all. But it was fun and a smooth shooter. Easy takedown for cleaning.
Tested a few 45 Super loads for the 625JM. All worked fine, as I expected. Still it's always nice to see a new project work out. That's gonna be a fun round.
Also brought the 500 mag with my pansy loads of 10g Trail Boss with 300g lead. Did shoot some with 40g Lil Gun with 300g FTX. When my friend fired one, we saw a spark from overhead, from the target carrier motor housing. I immediately inspected the cylinder to see if there was some kind of failure. I KNOW my friend didn't shoot the round vertically into the housing. We're not that bad. Turns out the concussion blew the breaker in the device, Roger took care of it was not upset with us, which made me happy.
I still don't like the re-assembly of the MKIII even with the two part bolt stop. I unscrew the top colt piece, remove the bolt, but after re-assembly it will not pull out all the way. I have to repeatedly reassemble it until I get it right but I don't know what I am doing wrong and what causes this.
Anyway the trip was a success!
