A fun day of shooting

Postby Scratch on Sat Jun 15, 2013 7:44 am

The weather was nice and had a few friends over to do some shooting in the backyard yesterday. Nobody wanted to get their picture taken for some reason, and I kept forgetting to go grab the camera from the back table anyways, but I did get some pics of a few of the prop setups. Its just a small range, but its fun, free, and close for me. We shot pistol and some rifle drills. I got to shoot a buddies new Tavor too! that was a fun gun to shoot. The tarps keep the grass down and make it easy to pick up bras, if you were wondering.

Started out with a little El Prez....

Did some IDPA style shooting setups with some shooting from seated position...

Did some transitioning rifle drills with some barricades...

Moved the walls back in and we started getting creative...

This one was kind of fun...

But this one was my favorite of the day... lots of movement and shooting through all windows.

We started doing drills like the V-Drill, El Prez, 1-5 drill, and some of the other drills that we've seen online, but then we started playing with the props for some fun. The hardest part for me is definitely weak hand shooting, pistol yes... but especially rifle! I need much more practice at that.

Cool range, looks like a lot of fun. I am interested in hearing more about the topless shooting and am also wondering if that is why your friends didn't want their pictures taken. I can see how the tarps would be beneficial in picking up brass but never thought to use that method for bras. Interesting... ;)

(Stupid auto correct)

Yes, the tarps do make it easier to find and pickup all the bras and panties that get thrown around by all my hot girlfriends when they come over shooting. It also helps keep us cleaner because the dirt and grass doesn't stick to the baby oil.

No you can't come over.

No I won't show pics.

Yes there is.

It's hard to see this time of year, but If you look between those two green bushes in the center... You can see that most of those homes over there have aluminum siding, and I only shoot hollow points, so I think I'm ok. Duh...

Good lookin' setups, Steve! We should set up some of the courses for the MN Sectional, and then you should come shoot it with me in August :)

Looks like a nice setup you've got there. My brother also just bought a Tavor - looking forward to shooting it when he comes home for the summer
