Damage industries and how to tell if my AR is mil or com sp

Found these guys looking for some furniture for my AR-15 and was wondering if you all have used or know of this company and it's products ?

On a side note, how do I tell if my ar-15 needs a mil or commercial spec tube kit for my adj. stock ?

Thanks !!

I don't know anything about Damage Industries, but as to buffer tubes (receiver extensions), either will fit on your AR15's receiver. You just need to make sure that the RE version matches the stock....

Gotcha, I was under the impression it was one or the other, thank you for clearing that up.

I ask about damage as that seems to be a low price for that kit, no ?

Seems close to the same price a similar Magpul setup would cost (ACS-L stock, MOE grip, rail covers)?

If replacing a rifle length buffer tube, you have your choice of commercial or mil-spec.

IMO butt stocks that fit mil-spec tubes are more widely available ie fleet farm or gander mtn. Just be ready to overpay by about 50% at gander.

I have one of their muzzle brakes on my AR. It's alright, nothing fancy. It will be coming off when I get my second STD though.

Just a word of warning, straight vs slanted back does not guarantee anything.
Also, I have heard that mil-spec dimension does not guarantee that the material used will meet mil-spec.

VLTOR is really well-made stuff. Note that the VLTOR receiver extensions have numbers corresponding to stock positions printed along the top surface. Those numbers correspond to a hole in the top of their emod and imod stock so that you can read the stock position. That is admittedly far from a big deal, but I've always found it to be a nice touch.

Make sure you know what buffer weight you're getting and that it at least nominally matches your rifle's configuration.

Well, now I know with certainty that the mil-spec stock assy. I bout a few years back was a dang lie!
I just wish I could remember where I got that one. At least, now I know the Magpul kit I got from PSA was advertised correctly.

It will be stamped on the end of it. No mark = carbine. Otherwise H, H2, H3 (increasing weight).
