Wheelgun fams...step in to the thread

Postby Evad on Sat Jul 27, 2013 10:03 pm

Anyone have a 625 with a 4 or 6 inch barrel I could try some time?

I really don't want to go the 357 route and get another caliber...but the 625 is the only good 45acp revolver I can find. No interest in a judge or variant. So, is there anything to compare to the 625?

If I can't find what I want in 45acp...then I will look at others. Maybe I'll get another 1911 instead of a wheel, but I just have the thought I would enjoy one.

I don't own a 625 but that's only 'cause it ain't in the budget. Just go ahead & buy one. Unless you are looking for a carry gun -- but if you're OK with some bulk, maybe even then.

Yup. Just buy one.

Seriously though, you'd be getting a great gun if you did. ;) 625's are sweet.

Just to make you want one even more, you can shoot 45 Super ammo out of a 625 straight up!! That's a 230 grain 45 caliber bullet going 1200 FPS!! It leaves the 357 mag behind it in the dust.

Yup. Same dies. Big problem is the cases look EXACTLY alike!! If you get ONE, just one 45ACP case in your 45 Super brass, that case will blow for sure!! You have to be super OCD to keep your brass segregated!!

Maybe I will get lucky, I have a couple thousand once fired...could find a super in there! :)

No worries about keeping them separate. So far I even have "odd" cases segregated. Like the black hornady cases, nickel cases, ect.

As somebody once said on here about the 625 "its the most fun you will have with your pants on".

I have a 625 and I love it!!!!! I have the 5" barrel and it shoots wonderful, plus those moon clips make for fast reloads.
I would say it's second fave to my 1911's though.

I had a similar thought. Unless it's a public range, why would I have my pants ON?

You forget that I am 63 years old and have the most fun with my LEG off, hopping around the house like Brer Rabbit.
