What's your companies policy for carrying at the office??

Postby shooter115 on Fri Aug 02, 2013 11:52 am

Carrying concealed is already allowed at my place of business, but this made my Friday. My boss walks over to my desk today and starts to hang a piece of paper over my cubicle. I say "wouldn't the front door to the office be a better place for that". He pauses and says "You're right, that would make more sense". :D

No luck here, not even "allowed" in parking lot :(
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

Well up until last year we had a "so called" yet un-enforced "No Firearms" policy in the building. Then there was the rash of office shootings last year including the Accent Signage killing spree. Prior to that I was having conversations with management about making a policy change, but it never really went anywhere. Then all of a sudden last fall my boss discretely pulled me aside and said " We just got done re-writing the new employee handbook and the "No Firearms" provision has been removed. Thought you would like to know". I know in the last couple years quite a few of the management and office personnel around here have gotten their permits, but I couldn't say for sure (other than a couple) who's EDCing. Up until today everything was kept very quiet under a "don't ask, don't tell" sorta unsaid policy.

We have no language in our employee policy stating one way or the other. Concealed is concealed, and don't turn it into an issue is the direct answer from our managing partner.

It helps we are in a building downtown that is full of armed state and federal law enforcement, and the carry permit office is in our complex.

Being as how I am CEO of my company...... Yes, Carry is allowed.
It is better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it.

Employee handbook says no. I emailed the top brass with no response. Charming.
Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.

Hell no. Instant firing would result.

Parking lot intially security tried to claim was a no-no, until I pointed out the statute on parking lots. Then they had the audacity to claim all workplace shootings have been done by legally carried guns. A 3 second internet search was all that was needed to shut that idea up as well.
1911 Fan quote in memoirium about carrying:
The purpose of a firearm in a defensive situation is to make the other guy leak from holes he was not born with. Your job is to install those orifices for him.

No weapons on my person while on the clock. Both me and my boss have to keep our guns locked up in our vehicles. I still keep my 6" folding blade on my person though.

Same goes for me.

Sent from my "smart" phone, so expect random assaults from auto correct.
