Your One Gun

Just curious if you had to have only one, what would it be and why. For me, it would be a Beretta 92fs/M9. Reason being, is several years ago I started reading the Vince Flynn serious of spy thrillers and the main character always had his beretta. It got my looking into the gun and I ended up getting a M9 last month. I love it and look to get my carry in the near future. For me, it's the perfect size and love the double/single action.

S&W 686 Plus. .357 Mag is one of the most flexible calibers and the 686 is easy to shoot.

Tough choice. I guess if it was really the only gun I could have for everything, it might be a Remington 870.

One gun, huh? wow...REALLY tough choice. You have handguns, rifles and shotguns to chose from. All have different roles and all work well in situations they were designed for. But just ONE gun? Hmmmm. It would have to cover any self defense situations, so that rules out long guns if you need to carry. How about putting meat on the table? That rules out most handguns save the big ones made for hunting. What about the Zombie apocalypse? I'm tending to agree with the above poster....a Reminton 870 with a 18-20 inch barrel. Good for home defense, albeit not so good for carry away from home. Good for hunting either birds or big game with slugs. And an all around favorite for blasting the heads off of zombies. :D

I survived with an XD9 4" for ten years before, but that is no way to live :)
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

It would be my Colt Gold Cup. It has huge sentimental value - my dad gave it to me as a high school graduation present. It is a 1911 - how can you go wrong there. It is vintage - my dad got it new from the custom shop in 1979 back when colt really made them right. It shoots - has a crisp 3lb trigger, is accurate as I can shoot, and runs 100%.

I agree about .357, though mine's a Ruger GP100. Actually it almost is my only gun; the SP101 hasn't been out of the safe in a while.

Glock. Seven. Teen.

Oh... Forgot the why...
Because it works every time.
Ammo is cheap to buy, and easy to reload.
It was my first handgun.
Easy to conceal.
Good for self defense,

^^^ minus it was my first handgun, mine was a .45 1911.

Tho if the Zombie, Chinese, Russian, ISIS/ISIL, Generic/Alien/Obama refuses to leave the white house apocalypse it would be a Scoped AK as ammo would easier to get.

I'd stick with my Beretta .40. Not too big to carry, adequate as a home defense weapon, best balance (imho) of bullet size vs. magazine capacity.

I agree, if limited to "handgun" I would also choose my SS GP100 in 357Mag.

Otherwise, it would have to be my Ithaca Model 37 DeerSlayer with 20" slug barrel and 28" modified choke shot barrel.

Probably my Ruger 10/22 Takedown, maybe my Mossberg 500 depending on the scenario I guess.

If limited to a handgun, my Walther PPQ M1.

For a rifle: Since the receiver is the only firearm part I'd keep an AR receiver then I can have it be several different calibers.

For a handgun: one of my Colt 1911's

For SHTF handgun: My Ruger blackhawk convertible for the ability to shoot 9mm, 38 special and 357 mag.

870 - 20" rifle sight smooth bore w/RemChoke. Selection of slug, buck and bird shotshells.
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.
