Interested In NRA High Power

Postby Lights on Sun Feb 15, 2015 12:13 pm

Hello are any of you into NRA high power matches? I would like to know more about them from a local competitor. Specifically interested in the service rifle matches and rules. It would be great to meet someone that can meet up with me and show mme what it's all about.

Thank you,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I run the CMP program at Post 435 Gun Club south of the cities.

If you have questions, feel free to ask.

Cool Rip. Looks like I need to sign up for the clinic. I'm guessing it will explain it all to me if I attended. I see there is a Mini Palma shoot next Saturday. If I understand the flyercorrectly. I can shoot my scoped AR15 as long as it is of a .22 cal. Is that correct? If so I'm game for next weekends match.

While it isn't spelled out in the flyer, NRA Smallbore rules specify .22 cal rimfire.
And I'm pretty sure that's how this match will go.
According to the flyer, you can probably borrow a rifle, if you have ammo.
As always, the match director has final say.
Show up and have fun, I would if I could be there.

While the mini-palma is designed around the 22LR smallbore cartridge, if anyone were to show up with a rifle chambered in 17HMR or a 22mag they wouldn't be turned away. Unfortunately, I don't think I could let anyone shoot a centerfire rifle as this match is suppose to simulate shooting a centerfire rifle at 1000 yards.

I can understand that Rip. If all go well and I do not have to work I will be there with my 22LR.
