gun shop visits

Postby maddhunter on Tue Feb 24, 2015 11:43 am

I need to make a dreaded trip to south Bloomington tomorrow and was wondering if you guys could recommend some gun shops I should visit on my way back towards God's Country( north metro). Not interested in any of the big box stores. Thanks

Arnzen Arms in Eden Prairie isn't that much of a detour from Bloomington. Nice store.

+1 on Arnzen Arms

You could also hit Frontiersman (off of 394 and Louisiana Blvd in St. Louis Park) as well as DK Mags in New Brighton.

According to his website, he has the following:

Springfield: 1911's Loaded (SS & Parkerized) , Mil Spec (SS & Parkerized), Lightweight Champion Operator, Range Officer (9mm in 4.25" & 5" & 45acp in 4.25 & 5")
Sig Sauer: 1911's (Extreme, Nightmare, Target SS, Rosewood, TacOps, Ultra Compact)
Ruger: SR1911 (full & Commander), SR1911 Night Watchman

^^^ This! It's very dog friendly, and Gin, the house Samoyed, will greet you at the door. Good selection, immaculate store, and FFL transfers are $20. The only problem is getting there, so print out a Google map before you go. The store is located in the same shopping "area" as Menards, but with 494 turning the corner and 169 and 212 added into the mix, it gets mighty confusing. As added incentive, they are plopped down on the opposite side of the freeway from Gouger Mountain, the home of above retail prices. (Where's the EFF YOU smiley??) iiII/

Another +1 for Arnzen, every time I've walked in that place I've walked out with one firearm more than I entered with, great prices and an assortment of guns I've had trouble finding elsewhere.

While you're that direction it's always good to make a run through Gunstop. In the north burbs you can hit Trail's End, Lincoln Pawn and Capras within a couple mile stretch of 65/Central between 694 and 10.

+1 for Southwest Arms. John and Jan are the best and always have great prices on everything. I'm gonna tell John he might want to get a dog
