Anyone know what body parts it will cost to get one? Why can't they come out with the civilian version of a M60 machine gun -semi of course (7.62x51). Went straight to the AR 10 when I got my 1st AR since as was tired of the M16 while in the military. But seeing this might change my mind and depending on cost.

Here's an upper that can be either magazine feed or belt feed, and it's only $3000.00.

I understand the cool factor but I like stuff I will actually use and not stuff that says "look at me" or "ain't I cool" or "I have more money than I know what to do with".

This is pretty cool but it is kind of like Kate Upton with a boob reduction.

For that kind of money you can get a real nice AR, a very accurate bolt bun, a very nice 1911...

What will this semi-auto do for you that an AR will not? Both will offer no giggle switch.

Just not my cup of tea.

For that kind of money, would rather get a nice 50 BMG semi auto.

Personally... I don't ever want a firearm with a giggle switch. Too expensive to feed.
I like guns that are either:
A. Functional or serve a certain purpose
B. Have sort of historical significance
C. Are fun to shoot (and no... You can't say ALL guns are fun to shoot because not all are)
D. Look really really cool.

I agree. When Uncle Sam was footing the bill I loved full auto.

I am all for functionality in most everything. If it doesn't work then it is not cool.

What would be the historical significance of this firearm?

If someone wants to pay the price for one of these then go for it. I will think you wasted your money but by all means...

My point is that without it being full auto it will take away the one advantage of the firearm over other platforms using the same round. There are many other semi-autos that can do the job better in semi-auto for much less cost, weight, and bulk.

If you could buy one full auto and could afford to feed it then it might be worth looking at. I still would not have a proper use but at least it would then be interesting.

Will it be as accurate as an AR?

Since I never got the chance to play with the fun stuff on Uncle Sams dime, the military stuff intrigues me. No it doesn't have a "huge" historical significance, but it is an iconic firearm. If I see an AR15 on the range, or for that matter a select fire M16, I probably wouldn't give it much more than a second glance since AR's are everywhere and let's face it.... They all pretty much look the same, even belt fed.

But if I saw one of these on the range, I'd want to come look at it, learn how to use it, see how it handles, how it shoots. It's much more interesting than the typical AR, AK, and 10/22 that you see every stinking day.

I would absolutely LOVE to have one... But at 7K... Won't even consider it. Cut that price in half and we can talk.
