Ramsey County permit to purchase?

Postby The Famous Grouse on Sat Jan 28, 2017 3:02 pm

I'm just checking to see if I recall correctly the rules for Ramsey County, MN. I'm buying 2 long guns by mail order and want to make sure I have my ducks in a row so I don't have to scramble around.

Guns are a shotgun and a Savage A17 autoloading rimfire. No ARs, no handguns.

Am I correct in recalling that no permit to purchase is required for a Ramsey County resident for these guns? Just the usual CBC from the FFL I have them sent to?

Many thanks.

You are correct in your assessment that neither gun requires a PTP.

Correct the permit to purchase is only needed for handguns and those deadly assault weapons.

Thanks guys. Just don't want to be that guy who shows up at the FFL without his stuff together.

Been waiting over a year for Savage to (hopefully) have the bugs worked out of the A17. Here's hoping.
