Social Media Stuff

Postby 50calscience on Wed May 24, 2017 1:52 pm

Hey, I was just wondering if you guys use Facebook or Instagram for following any firearm related topics? Reason being, given the line of work I'm in (boring office worker!), I'm always feeling that I'm gonna be judged (or thought of as a psycho) if I like or follow any gun channels?

I follow forums and other on line gun stuff like Armslist, Gunbroker, riverofguns.com, firingline, brianenosforums and several others but no facebook or instagram.

Social Media Stuff

Postby Prepared4Survival on Wed May 24, 2017 3:42 pm

Pretty much all of my Facebook and Instagram are about guns. I don't go online at work though. It's best that my coworkers don't know how into guns I am. I work in an office that guns are seen as a bad thing. There are certain people I know that shoot, but how I see it I don't want my career limited because of my out of work activities.

I avoid the internet completely. You can't believe anything read there.

I use Facebook to follow Gun rights examiner Dave Workman out of Seattle. The website that had been hosting his page and other gun rights examiners got completely out of gun related stuff a little over a year ago.

Social media sites do more harm than good. I don't deal with any of them. Was on LinkedIn for awhile but closed that down a few years ago.

The only thing I use Facebook for is signing up to enter drawings for free guns and equipment. My Facebook page is now useless for anything else because it makes me look like a rabid survivalist.

Social Media Stuff

Postby LumberZach on Wed May 24, 2017 7:33 pm

My social media is almost all gun related stuff. I keep it all on the down low at work, but I don't much care if someone goes through my "likes" or anything. I don't post much though if at all.

Compartmentalize. It's safer that way, especially if your life involves interacting with people with a wide range of political and social ideologies.
