GANDER OUTDOORS

Postby BuckKlier on Wed Dec 13, 2017 5:41 pm

I went to the opening today, lots of guns and ammo. Looked like more guns than the old Gander, anyone else go?, and what do you think about it? :?

How were prices? What sort of guns - traditional hunting guns, AR-15's, AK-47's? Pistols?

So they did all this just to re-brand their signage to remove the "Firearms Super Center" stuff? But they still sell firearms? Interesting. Seems like the long way around...

http://www.bemidjipioneer.com/news/4373785-gander-outdoors-open-first-store-minnesota
LAKEVILLE, Minn. – Gander Outdoors, the reborn version of defunct Gander Mountain, opened its first store in Lakeville near the Twin Cities on Wednesday, Dec. 14 — and it appears the Hermantown store in northeast Minnesota won’t be far behind.

In addition to Lakeville, it was previously said the Forest Lake, Baxter, and Bemidji stores in Minnesota and Fargo in North Dakota would also reopen.

Well look for a hi-point and see if it is listed for over $400. If so, same pricing.

Guess I should pay more attention, I've been past the Lakeville one twice today and never even noticed. I think it's a failure on them that they didn't get it open for black Friday. I'll have to check it out even though they don't want my business.

They don’t want my business, so I’ll shop at any of the other places that do.

It’s nice to be able to look at stuff before ordering online

I'm thinking that if they are devoting expensive retail floor space to guns and ammo, they actually DO want your money.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to the comments by Marcus Lemonis (CEO of Camper World & Gander Outdoors) after the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, VA, where he basically said 'consumers who are in favor of what Trump said about the Charlottesville protests, should not do business with him.

He later backpedaled and apologized for his comments, but a lot of gun owners and Trump supporters are taking/have taken his comment to heart.

I don't need them and am not interested. Whether his comments were what he really thinks or not, there are plenty of other people I'd rather do business with.
