Saved up points at Cabela's and waited for a sale on a Victory.

Had it almost covered by points and ended up getting a bonus to fill in the rest. Could not wait for a sale and pulled the trigger.

Really nice pistol.

After I bought it ended up getting a flyer for Cabela's with a sale at $50 off plus a $25 giftcard. Went in and they honored it. Had to give me a gift card for the $75.

I had the $75 credit from Cabelas. Had to head to Owatonna to meet with my cabinet guy.

Stopped at the Cabelas. They had a BSA reflex type sight regularly $49.99 on clearance for $29.99. 4 reticles, 7 light intensity settings.

Got it and mounted it up. Had to swap the rear sight for the rail. Nice one screw removal and installation on the rail.

Yesterday I stopped at OGC. I was amazed at how well I liked it. I did not think I would want a dot sight on this pistol. My hands got pretty cold in the 0°F temps otherwise I would have put several hundred rounds through her.

Cabela's really stepped up, for me recently! Haven't been in a Dick's (hah! Dick's was autocorrected to Sucks!) or Gander since a Cabela's became accessible to me.

I have been having a lot of FTE with this pistol. Couldn't get a magazine full through it. A lot of stove pipes. I kept telling myself it just needed a bit more shooting to wear in or I needed to find ammo it liked.

Last weekend I was out to OGC. I was able to put several magazines of Norma Tac .22 and CCI standard velocity down range without a problem. Things were looking up.

On youtube I saw some videos showing how to bend the ejector slightly to cure the same symptoms mine had.

Today the boy and I headed out to shoot our postal match targets. Shot a bit to warm up and again and same old problems. I figured it was worth a shot. Turned it over and removed the barrel retaining screw, pulled the bolt out, took the Leatherman and ever so slightly bent the ejector about 1mm or so. Put it back together and she was digesting all the ammo types I had with. It was amazing. I do not think I could measure the amount that I moved the ejector but it made a world of difference.. It is a sheetmetal piece that is spot welded in place.

Since we were shooting our match targets I only had the better stuff with. Federal HV Match, Federal Premium Hunter Match, Norma Tac .22, and CCI Standard Velocity.

I will have to return with the crap ammo and see how it goes.

Took her out on Thursday.

Had some Remington Golden Bullets, American Eagle...

She fed and spit out everything.

With three 30 round magazines I might be burning through a bit of rimfire ammo.

Grabbed a couple pieces of stainless sheetmetal from work to make a tool for loading the mags.

Single stack 30 round magazine? Drum?

Single stack. It is a .22 rimfire.

Sorry, I missed my typo. 3 ten round magazines.

A 30 round drum would be sweet.

I have had a few high capacity magazines for the 10-22 and Marlin 795. I never could get them working right.

For the 10-22 I have a few 10 rounders.

For the 795 I have one 7 round and one 10 round. Whoever decided on a 7 round magazine should be fired. I like to dish out 10 rounds from a box of ammo. 7 is such an odd number.

Ruger OEM 25 rounder magazines never failed for me in 10/22, but I heard plenty of stories about aftermarket magazines having issues in some of their rifles. Are yours OEM?

Guess I should mention I stick with CCI ammo too, that makes a big difference in 22lr

But 7 was a huge selling point over a six shooter. Would be interesting to hear how 7 came to be.

My favorite is the Norma Tac 22. The CCI Standard velocity has been very good for me as well.
