Shot show 2018... Exciting new stuff or not?

Postby goosed on Sun Jan 21, 2018 2:31 pm

So it's that time of year again. Anything anyone has seen that looks exciting or that you are hoping to see?

http://www.gunsholstersandgear.com/shot-show-2018/ has nice preview posted.

Ruger's budget friendly security 9 handgun as well as their PC9 carbine (10/22 takedown in 9mm) look interesting.

Nothing overly exciting so far. I'm waiting to see what Browning announces for Shot Show exclusive shotguns this year.

The Winchester Hybrid-X Ammo earns a WTF award though:

Why? They aren't the first going this route. Must be seeing a market segment they are missing.

I want to see if CZ’s planned integrally suppressed Scorpion EVO is going to be sold to civilians.

I was sure I saw that they already stated that it would be released to civilians. Of course now I can't find... maybe I imagined it?

Everything I’ve seen has explicitly stated law enforcement and military. They are going for all the foreign MP5 contracts. Haven’t read a single word about civilians other than “we are waiting to see about civilian sales”. Fwiw. If you find it, please post. But don’t go to far out of your way. We’ll know in the next few days. Thx!

For those that haven't heard yet then secret about the Reformation, it looks like the wait is over...

It sounds like it has straight cut lands and grooves, therefore not rifling, therefore not a rifle. Designed for less than 100 yards, and will most likely be in 300BLK.

Per the rep- only good to 50 yards and that’s where it starts keyholing. All for the low price of.....$2000

They need a new rep. Ouch.

Seems like they spent a lot of effort on making something that is not very effective, not cheap, and will likely be re-categorized by the feds before too long. I think that fits the 'gimmick' mold.

If they twisted those tailfins maybe the bullet would start spiraling once it left the barrel.
