Leupold introduced their Mark5 line. Sounds like it’s not illuminated, though. Not sure how I feel about that...

That looks pretty cool.

I can't see why it has a 30 MOA Rail on it?

That seemed strange to me as well.

Because a 1300fps 36gr bullet falls like a rock at 500yds? ;)

There's going to be some PO'd people if they don't see that, and make sure their scope has enough Elevation Travel, when they try to zero at 50 or 100 yds

Nikon's p-22 has 80 MOA of adjustment.

Because when you shoot smallbore at 200 yards you need 24moa of elevation. ;)

Guess to a plinker like me it seems strange. I have to lose the mindset that the rimfires are for more than aerating cans and squirrels.

To someone who might actually use the feature it is perfectly in line with the design of the firearm.

Thanks for the insight.

Personally I think the Mossberg 464 SPX still has it beat for ugly... but that's not a shotgun...

Design deficiency or more training issue? I would imagine if the forearm is held further forward this does not occur?

Remington's wasn't as bad as the Magpul fore-end has a bit of a handstop at the rear. Mossberg's does not. I'm going with design deficiency. Under duress or stress...guys already are known to short stroke a pump action...now we have a device where hand placement is key? Not sold on it.

Adaptive Tactical had a pretty sweet detachable barrel/mag tube setup for a Mossberg 500 at their booth -- allowed for takedown of a pump shotgun into 2 pieces at the receiver rather than leaving the magtube in the front of the shotgun.

Since I have no access to SHOT except through the media, who I view as being slightly less honorable than prostitutes, I will wait until I actually see and get to handle some of these things before declaring if something excites me.

The DBM thing is typical behind the curve marketing. DBM custom autoloading shotguns are relatively common in 3 gun. Their only real advantage is when you get into a game where rapid reloading is necessary. While I can see tactics evolving that would make it useful in combat, with the exception of riot suppression I can’t see any real need for DBM shotguns in the real world for civilians (including cops) given that both are responsible for every projectile as far as self defense goes.

I guess I am one of the few gun owners that has the reaction SHOT? Meh.

The ruger precision rimfire does not excite me even though I own and enjoy the RPR. Youtube videos confirmed my fears: plenty of chassis flex and significant bolt slop.

Anschutz NA announced they will offer a 54 sporter action in an fiberglass stock with adjustable cheek riser. Not sure what the fiberglass stocks brings to the table the GRS stocks don't... I guess options are good anyways. MSRP $2700

The tikka T1x is the most exciting rimfire rifle (to me). Sounds like all the things I like about the T3 lineup (at least per accurateshooter.com) just scaled down. MSRP $499, street ~$400
