As you can tell, I way over think just about everything. I post things here to tap into the collective wisdom and I respect opinions from all of you. Thank you.

Using 123gr Hornady’s my ballistic calculator says you can sight in at 200 yards and you’ll be inside of a 5” diameter circle from 0 to 236 yards.

The scope is above the bore. So the bullet starts out below the line of sight. It will zero, or intersect, twice. Once on the way up, once on the way down (relative to your scope's crosshairs. The bullet doesn't rise out of the bore, it starts falling by gravity instantly)

When I have my rifle 1.5" high at 100 yards for deer season, it is a tad low at 23 yards, maybe a half inch, and almost dead-on at 50 yards. Most of my deer rifles are shooting the same velocity range, so it's damn close for all of them.

I always shoot some at close range to verify.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.
