I got a Mavic Pro. I learned how to fly back in 2001, but didn't pursue it due to the damn terrorists.

I'm white, have trashed knees, and this was about 30' above the tree tops. :P

Yeah, Dave Timm was instrumental in getting me out of dumping the $$$$ into a Phantom 4 Pro; and the thing that really hit home was his comment that if his drone was smaller, he'd take it more places. This thing's case is the size as my DSLR camera case, and it's Super portable! That it flies the same range and takes killer pics and video made it the obvious choice once I thought about the possible uses outside my initial plans of just using it for habitat and critter observations. I'm amazed how well this handles gusty wind. It's a sweet rig!

700yds. I haven't tried measuring it outside of the county GIS, but it should be do-able.

If you can find your range on Google Earth, there's a neat measurement tool:

If I didn't already have a phantom I'd have definitely gotten the Mavic. They are crazy easy to fly.

My range is newer than the satellite view on google. I used the GIS measuring tool to determine the distance from the low spot in the draw (North edge) to roughly the South lot line (with provisions for firing line, of course). The county GIS is pretty powerful. You can measure area and have all the overlays like rear lot zone, etc.

Mavic is crazy easy to fly. The only thing I need to change is the finger wheel for gimbal tilt - it's just a bit too fast/touchy.

This is per the GIS. There's a shallow draw that runs across the North end of the range which is where I had the faller stop cutting. I need to see how things pan out on the ground to decide if I'm going to put my backstop on the North or South side of that dip. Either way, I can't cause it to back water up into the neighbor's place so I'll have to have some form of culvert there if I end up changing the grade(s).

Blue line is Rear Lot Zone (lake land use restrictions).

Wait, that range is 200 meters? I thought it was 200 yards. Now I have to recalculate all of my handloads. I am going to be way off.
