some heavy sub-sonic bullets have an ogive that hits one of the ribs in the side of the magazines, causing the cartridges to get tipped or pushed towards the center of the magazine-instead of staying stacked and straight. Often they will still work/feed...but looks wrong.

I run sand colored p mags to help separate from my 556 mags. Never had any issues. Wish i could find some sand 5 rounders thou. It’s hard sometimes havin a tiny pistol and this giant mag sticking out the bottom.

I'm using p-mags. I load all my own 300blk, so I set the overall length so that the the rounds sit properly in the mag, and the rib doesn't press in on my rounds.
honestly it's not really an issue if you copying factor loadings. The only time I've had issues is when I was doing something crazy like 110 gr 30 carbine projectiles, or moly coated rounds.

P-mags.

I use green for 300BO.

Black for 5.56

Works well for me.

It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

color coding is a good solution. The mags I already have for my Grendel are all black - wish I would have thought to order them in another color - not sure they would have been available. I may need to go the Krylon route. I've also see the rubber bands in multiple colors with the caliber marked on the side.

I tried the O.D. Krylon and it worked. The Krylon "Fusion" is made for going on plastic

Back when I played a lot of paintball I was buying and selling paintballs to the others I played with (made it so I always played for free). In order to keep it all straight I wrapped the pods with strips of colored electrical tape. It’s still on 15 years later.

another good idea - colored electrical tape.

These ideas are worth the price paid for the annual subscription. :D

I have used all types and capacities of mags with 300blk - 0 issues. Lucky???

Also, mags loaded with 300blk get a rubber band around the base to set them apart from the 5.56 loaded mags.

Good luck!

With limited round count-just under 100, hex mags appear to function just fine for 124 & 150. Responses were appreciated. Thanks!
