Mossberg 590 Shockwave

Postby PHATSPEED7x on Sun Dec 16, 2018 3:51 pm

Since this a "firearm" by definition of the ATF. I'll just post it in "general" Gun chat.

Picked one up last Friday as a Christmas gift to myself. Always wanted one. Installed a 6 round side saddle. I shot about 50 rounds though it so far. Full power 3" 00 buck I wouldn't recommend for more than 2 rounds. It isn't too bad with standard 2.75" 00 buck.

Love how mossberg made this "legal" to the masses. Image

Did you shoot it one handed like they do in the movies?

Does it have a metallic or a ceramic trigger group ?

The ceramic cased trigger group has a tendency to break off rear tang where pistol grip attaches to action.

( I have shot it one-handed using 2.5" baby magnums.)

I remember once upon a time an individual to remain unnamed shot one and tried to use the "sights"......
nearly knocked all of his teeth out.....................

It was kind of one of those "HERE HOLD MY BEER......." moments .....:rotf:

The one I tried was what you may want to call more of a Randy Weaver model. Pistol grip short barreled (double) 12 gauge. Held at arms length one handed pulled trigger and it ended up behind me. Sadly I’m no Dolph Lundgren or Rambo.

I'm looking forward to shooting this more and getting good at it. Takes a different mind set to set off one of these with full powered 00 buckshot. But should be a serious fight stopper.

I’m curious. Couldn’t ATF turn around and make this gun illegal using same tactics they are using with bumpstocks since there were questions about its legality from the beginning.
