Looking for carry renewal

Postby raggers on Sun Dec 16, 2018 5:19 pm

As the headline implies, I need to renew my Minnesota carry license. (My wife does, too)

I live in the Red Wing area.

The last time we renewed, we had to go through what amounted to a complete ab initio introduction to carry, and although I admired the instructor's thoroughness, it was a much bigger deal than it had to be, I thought. There was nothing new, it seemed to me. And while I enjoy time on the range, it might be nice if that can be skipped.

I know, I know, it sounds like I'm looking for a rubber-stamp sort of deal. Well, I am, and it might be worth a long car trip to get it.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, I was looking for the same thing for my last renewal. Found an online course that cost like $40 including the range qualification which you schedule separately after completing the course. It was great. I’ll see if I can find the info, I think I started a thread here about it.

I ended up going to MN firearms training in Anoka since they had a buy one get one deal and I wanted the gf to take the class. It was super quick and simple as opposed to my first class with Paul Horvick which was thorough and informative. For future renewals I’d go to online like you did Erud.
