Another interesting product, though I'm not ready to be on the bleeding edge with the current $2,500 buy in price, the Ohler 89 BC chrono might be the beginning of the next big step in long range shooting.

From my understanding, it uses their standard optical chrono near the muzzle and a wireless acoustic sensor down range to determine time of flight. With muzzle velocity and time of flight you now have the ability to accurately predict real world BC numbers vs. using manufacturers BC numbers (inflated marketing hype?).

Both technologies have been around for a while and have proven fairly reliable. The only difference is the use of acoustic sensor to measure time, but that should be fairly easy to accomplish judging by how well they work in electric targeting systems to accurately pin point bullet location at long ranges. It has all the makings of a massive jump toward accurately predicting real world flight curves vs. ballistic solver tweaking/voodoo most of us use today. Price is just a little too steep for this pilgrim.
