Another great article I recently found. Synopsis: disasters and upheaval surprisingly likely in the long run.

Even healthy people probably don't need a LOT of ammo in a SHTF situation. If one gets into enough gunfights to go through hundreds (or thousands) of rounds of ammo, a bullet is likely to find you. Better to stockpile food, water, etc. Now, stockpiling ammo for supply disruptions is another issue entirely.

If i can give some advice: first to prep is a weapon and ammo, then everything else,
i have four kind of fire weapons with 2000 bullets for each
How much ammo ?
A LOT, as more as you can.

I need to order more 5.56/.223. And maybe some more build kits to just keep on the shelf.

Yes I can defend myself and family, but a small group of neer-do-wells could eventually take whatever a small family of defenders might have. Not without losses because defense has the advantage.
Once a disaster made it to the trading stage, we need a community for defense IMHO.
