Gotta think the cost of a locksmith is less than the potential cost of damage to the contents. Disappointing that Stack-On offered no support, understanding it's out of warranty, but they could at least offered a solution etc.

Good luck. My electronic lock has a key override that I should test to make sure works.

Good luck.

Use a GOOD rust penetrant like KROIL instead of WD40.

Drill a hole near lock and use a borescope to view internals and condition thereof.

Use a BIGGER hammer.

Good Luck with your project.

Please report back how it turns out.

$100 for service call
$300 for drilling
$90 to patch hole
$225 for new electronic lock
That is what I was quoted. Ouch. Haven’t made final decision. He is coming tomorrow.

How much was the safe?

You are approaching the price of my last Sturdy safe delivered.

Very close to price of safe. What is the alternative? Buy a new safe for 800-1200 plus delivery plus paying to get rid of old one.

You have a point. Can you swap in a Sargent and Greenleaf mechanical lock?

Wait it is an electronic lock? I assumed mechanical by your description

Dumb question but did you try changing the battery? You may need the master code after. Does it have a key back up under the keypad? Does it accept your code?

I thought you said it was a stackon brand? That sounds high for that brand.

It is not a electronic lock but it can be replaced with one.
