Metal Detectors at the State Fair

Sound like they'll be in use for Fair time only, partially in response to the shootings outside the front gate last year (which I don't recall involving permit holders, but knee jerk reactions are the best kind).

I wonder if they would be used when there's a show at the Education Bldg or the Coliseum, for example. Not just for MWCA, but rodeo or roller derby? I'm sure someone will say 'if we have them, why not use them'...

We're reviewing legal options w/ counsel about this issue in regards to Minnesota's Permit to Carry & State preemption laws. We'll have a decision in the coming weeks.

Keep up the good work. I’m following this closely.

I wonder if they found a firearm on someone, if presented with a valid permit they would still be let through? Wishful thinking at its finest.

Just to clarify - do you mean you'll have a decision as to what approach you will take, in the coming weeks?

If there's going to be a lawsuit involved, I'd be astonished to see a court decision that soon.

We'll have a decision on what we're going to do in a few weeks.

I imagine it'll take months before this gets in front of a judge.

We'll see - we're consulting with counsel presently.

A quarter of a million people with protesters outside who want to kill the cops.... I would not recommend going unarmed.
