Two more locations added for people to apply for permits or renewals. Also, the ability to set up the appointments online. Baby steps, I guess.

The FIRST available appointment at any of the three locations is April 1, 2021!

I just called Ramsey County to schedule an appointment expecting a few months wait, but their next opening was January 14th. The one good thing is the opening of multiple locations so I can avoid avoid going to downtown St. Paul.

The location of the downtown Ramsey Cty LEC isn't too bad, but there is a lot of activity in that building, including some court services functions, which draws 'interesting' characters who really aren't very good, or considerate, at parking anytime I 've gone there.
I've never been to the Arden Hills facility, but it appears accessible, and to have ample parking.

I renewed downtown this spring, shortly before the cluster with appointments began. If all goes well, when it's time to do it again, it will be in another county.

I don't think it is an "April Fool's" joke!

A friend made an appointment for Hennepin county at the end of Nov and the earliest he could get was like Jan 21st. So I would believe it that they are out to April 1st now.

Yeah, my wife just renewed hers in early December or so. She just dropped it off at the western service center in Apple Valley, no appointment needed. The Law Enforcement center in Hastings is also open for same. Bring a check for $50.
