Precedent Established?

Seems to be so.

Maybe you have to work for Mpls schools and be a black lady, to realize the full benefit, though.

I wouldn't want to be a test case, but it's still interesting.

There's no precedent established here.

Precedents are established by appellate courts - in decisions. In MN that's the MN Court of Appeals and the MN Supreme Court.

Prosecutors do not establish precedent in their charging decisions.

There is some weirdness surrounding this case.
Been following it since first reported....
it's been pretty well established that there were 2 firearms involved; a pistol and a rifle.
Woman's latest story is she had the pistol, son had a rifle.
According to some earliest media sources, woman admitted firing warning shots with a rifle.
Latest media report states country attorney said medical examiner could not determine which weapon killed the burglar...

Be careful of media ignorance. They had their tag lines all typed and set for a different outcome. Pick and choose in an attempt to justify their predisposed story line has been sank. I would suspect that just skim reading a legal document, trying to come up with a news worthy article has its short comings.
