I'm not going to waste my time watching Bubba trying to kill himself with his 50 BMG.

This is the same troglodyte who made a video intentionally blowing up an M1 Garand.
I will never apologize for being an American.

The threads on the breach cap sheared off.

The designer said that would require pressures exceeding 85,000 PSI. The pressure in the chamber should have been no more than 55,000 PSI.

I don't know about you, but for me that's far too small a margin of safety.

I think it was an intentionally over-powdered cartridge.

While I'll agree that's not much of a safety margin, the fact that we're not seeing these rifles blowing up all over the country tells me that Bubba got caught doing something stupid.

I have little tolerance for stupidity, I have none when you broadcast you're stupidity on the internet.

Old Post. Old News. He was shooting surplus SLAP rounds and likely had a barrel obstruction. Unfortunate for the rifle manufacturer, Serbu Firearms because it has been unjustly criticized for the actions of that dumbass.

Knowing almost nothing about SLAP rounds, I did a quick search of the topic.
Every source was quick to advise against using saboted rounds with a muzzle brake not specifically designed for them. Given the shots were going wild, one wonders if the rounds were creating a restriction at the muzzle, and resultant pressure spike.

I ran out of Alliant Reloder-50 for my 50BMG target rifle.

Should I try Bullseye or Win296 of which I have plenty ???

This is the STUPID question type I see constantly on internet FaceBook Groups of which I am either an Admin or a Moderator. Lately I have been called a Group Policeman for deleting these type of questions and trying to get them to buy Reloading Books or at least access QUALITY sources of info from reliable sources.

Too many idiots out there post something so they can read about others having a Kaboom and stating "Don't shoot reloads".

Anybody know where I can get V.V. 20N29 powder at a reasonable price ? I have 8+ pounds of WIN296 for trade and some excess Bullseye powder, and many others.

20N29 seems to be readily available at $35-$40 a pound. Fairly reasonable for VV.
