Local parts?

Postby bstrawse on Fri Jun 12, 2009 10:33 pm

Do any of the local gunshops in the cities have any 1911 parts like springs, extractors, etc?

Need a new extractor for my fullsize Kimber 1911... and a few misc parts.

Thanks -

For awhile, Scheels in St. Cloud was carrying a full line of Kimber parts. That was a couple of years ago, though. Give 'em a call.

If you're going to go as far as St. Cloud, you'd be better off going to Ahlman's down by Faribault who is a factory authorized repair center for every major gun manufacturer and has enough parts in stock to make your eyes fall out of your head.
Decrypt the points of departure and return your head slowly and you do not cancel your hair.

Ahlman's, huh. Wow - I've never been there. Sounds like it would be a fun trip. ;)

Ahlman's puts on a "Shooter's Round-Up" one weekend in August. This is a must see event for any shooter in Minnesota. Everything from blackpowder, handguns, shotguns, rifles, 50 BMG, full auto, cannons to tanks. If you want, you can shoot any of them for a price.

Their sign says, "5,000 Guns". That's about right for what is in the showroom.

It's actually closer than Cabela's in Owatonna.

They have so many shotguns it boggles the mind.

Ahlman's is a nice place, was there last week, looked over a few guns, bought some ammo, renewed my range pass and shot a couple of boxes through my GP100 and Mk II. Looking forward to this years Roundup in August!!
Cabela's is okay, overpriced.

A friend of mine had mentioned this event that was in this "old west town" like place. I'm sure this is the one. He said it's not to be missed! I'm going for sure!
