GONE: 21" CCTV Monitor - FREE

Postby Paul on Fri Apr 02, 2010 11:29 am

As I mentioned on a different thread recently, in my spare time I oversee/manage a retail loss prevention program for a chain of grocery stores in the north metro. One of our locations recently got some equipment upgrades, and I was left to deal with this item, an ADEMCO Video AMC21, CCTV monitor. This monitor was manufactured in 2004, and still works fine. It has a couple different input ports to run more than one DVR system through it.

Here is a description of the monitor, from this website: http://www.sourcesecurity.com/docs/fullspec/AMC21.pdf

ADEMCO Video’s AMC21 is a deluxe 21-inch color monitor that provides crisp, detailed images. Its large viewing area and high resolution is advantageous for applications requiring detailed picture-in-picture or multi-screen formats typically associated with quads or multiplexers. The AMC21 features easy to use on-screen display (OSD) menus and convenient front-panel push-button controls that make setup quick and easy.

The AMC21 is ideal for worldwide applications. Installers can choose setup menus in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. The monitor also features an auto-sensing feature that automatically detects whether a PAL or NTSC video source is connected, and a universal power supply, allowing it to be powered by sources ranging from 90 to 245 VAC and 50Hz or 60Hz. An illuminated green LED beside the power button confirms that power is being supplied to the monitor.
The AMC21 also features a latching power switch which remains in its set position–either on or off–regardless of incoming power status.

The monitor has S-VHS capabilities for the highest quality video when connected to a compatible VCR, such as ADEMCO Video’s AVR960SV, and an audio input and output that allows operators to listen-in as well as view the monitored area. This is especially convenient for secured entry areas.

• 21” flat square picture tube
• 450 TVL
• Convenient front panel push-button controls
• On-screen display/setup menus (OSD)
• Heavy-duty metal cabinet
• NTSC/PAL (auto-sensing)
• S-VHS input and output capability
• Video loop-through with automatic termination
• Supports two composite and one Y/C video input (looping)
• Universal power supply
• Audio Input/Output
• Switchable overscan and underscan

A quick Google search shows this monitor currently selling new for $470 and up. The only thing that's missing is the power cord, but it takes a standard computer power cord, like pictured below, which can probably be purchased for $10 or so.

I have this riding in the trunk of my car, and will hang on to it until Monday. If nobody indicates that they want it by then, I am dropping it off at Best Buy to be recycled. I can meet most places near downtown, or the north metro, but I am not inclined to drive all over town, since it's free.

Send me a PM with any interest, or questions. Thanks!

The other taker backed out... Still available if anyone wants it. If I don't get any interest, I will be dropping it off for recycling at the end of the week.

I'll take it, I'm a little sick of the burn in on my plasma from my cameras.

By take it, I mean, I'd be honored to give it a good home.

I promise I'll feed it, and give it the attention it deserves.

Thanks again,
