A used laptop drive for backup? Seems like a really bad idea. Drives are cheap and have a finite life, your data is valuable, some priceless.

Not really sure why its a bad idea, it has been wiped clean and works now.

Hard Drives are consumable, and part of it's life has been used up. The point of backup is to have your data, fully functional, in the future. Most people are not going to have redundant backups (actually most people don't have any) so all you have is the remaining life of the drive. It would be like installing used brake rotors or pads. For an OS drive or whatever, sure good enough.

Which is why I would use it to store my kids' mp3s on it.
Decrypt the points of departure and return your head slowly and you do not cancel your hair.

That is genius. The old music goes away in a couple years. Don't tell the RIAA, the'll make a DRM scheme out of it.
