Job Summary

Under limited supervision, this position provides floor support for manufacturing of Viridian's products. Typical responsibilities may include plant layout, production methods and flow, special tooling/fixturing, cost and quality controls, and continuous improvement projects. Facilitate and direct continuous improvement of all manufacturing operations through the application of Lean philosophies and the latest technologies in the industry. Direct and participate in various manufacturing engineering and facilities assignments.

How will you spend your time?

Provide engineering support to manufacturing personnel to solve manufacturing problems and improve processes.
Prepare and revise Manufacturing Work Instructions and fixtures used to manufacture and test products.
Work with design engineering to identify and implement required design changes and supporting documentation.
Investigate and resolve supplier quality problems and customer complaints.
Participate on cross-functional teams that require coordinating with staff from engineering, quality, production, and purchasing.
Develop new and update existing Manufacturing Work Instructions.
Make suggestions and incorporate changes to improve the workflow in manufacturing.
Train manufacturing staff, team leaders, and peers on changes to manufacturing or business processes in the assigned area.
Introduce and maintain best practices on the manufacturing floor including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Flow principles.
Evaluate manufacturability of engineering designs/changes to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices, quality standards and customer needs.
Ensure manufacturing has the right tools and supplies to perform their jobs.
Responsible for all building maintenance activities. Tasks will be directly performed, directed to a production person or outside contractors to complete.
Make recommendations and proposals for major projects.
Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Ensure proper Preventive Maintenance and Calibration systems are in place and effectively being used for manufacturing and facilities equipment.
Involved in new product development process to ensure manufacturability.
Completes other assignments requested.
Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in engineering (manufacturing, industrial) or related experience
3-8 years' experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
Experience in a Lean environment
Design, testing and troubleshooting techniques
Ability to read schematics, blue prints, and CAD drawings
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office tools
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
College level language, math, reading, writing and reasoning skills
Knows and understands basic manufacturing engineering concepts and procedures including Lean and Continuous Improvement philosophies
Ability to know when to apply different principals
Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks
Interest or passion in the firearms industry
