Computer memory

Postby rucker on Mon Nov 19, 2007 12:17 am

I have lots of brand new unused computer memory from Rendition which is a reseller only brand offered by Crucial. I'm pretty sure you can't find laptop memory for anywhere near this price locally. As for the desktop memory you could find 1GB 533MHz for $20 at my day job but they have a limit of 2, you have to pay sales tax, and they don't deliver it to you :)

Laptop memory
2 - 512MB DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz SODIMM $25
2 - 512MB DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz SODIMM $25
2 - 1GB DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz SODIMM $35
2 - 1GB DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz SODIMM $35

Desktop Memory
2 - 256MB DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz $10
10 - 512MB DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz $15
10 - 1GB DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz $25
5 - 1GB DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz $25

So being a total non-tech, is Dell laptop memory proprietary? If not would any of this fit in a Latitude C800?.................

Dell memory is not proprietary but this is not the right type for a C800.

For everybody: All of this memory is DDR2 which was introduced in 2003. If your computer is older than that this definitely won't work. If it's newer than that tell me the model and I will tell you if it's the right stuff or not.

Getting sidetracked a bit, but sort of on topic, at least within the last post, my days as a reseller ended rather quickly when prices got so low that I just couldn't make a profit between a legitimate OS and all the other stuff involved in reselling. Fortunately, I never kept much of a supply on hand and operated out of my house. The only decent profit I could make was on specialty systems, even then, it wasn't a lot.

Your Buying Crucial so you are buying quality RAM no the cheap stuff. Plus you are calling for a low cas latency which calls for high end memory. You know i can rember not to long back buying 512 of ram for $150 and that was a crappy stick with a cas of 3.5 because i couldnt afford the good stuff, so i would be happy with that price.
