WTB smaller Ipod

Postby 1911fan on Thu Sep 04, 2008 3:09 pm

My wife is now allowed to have an ipod at work, for a long while they were worried about theft of intellectual property, but they have decided to allow small (less than 8 gig) Ipods. I don't want to pop for a new one until I am sure shes going to use it, she has a bad habit of saying "that would be a nice thing to have" and then using it for a week and then it sits. SO if you have an older Nano, Mini, or the like just sitting around, give me a shout..

I can get a new one for a hundred bucks, but I would much rather get a used one for less..... let me know..

THanks for reading.

If you don't have any luck here, keep an eye on http://www.woot.com They have a different product for sale each day starting at midnight, and ending when supplies run out for DIRT CHEAP. I have seen a plethora of Ipods for sale there. (yea, I said plethora, so what? You wanna make a big deal outta it?) :ugeek:

how much for your nano Lowerhalf? She can't have one that big. They are afraid of people stealing files.

But thanks for keeping an eye open.

Because the ipod with enough storage for 10 cds won't hold any sensitive files?

I did not make the rules. I know they were siezing phones for awhile and looking at what pics they've taken and what was on the chips. It wasn't her company. But DHS that made the rules.

Break free of the Apple tyranny. Just buy a plain old Mp3 player that uses SD cards. My son got one for $25. He can put anything he wants on it. With the SD cards it's infinitely expandable.

Only if you are willing to buy infinite numbers of SD cards! ;)

Word of warning. I have run across a couple of computers/readers that didn't like the >1Gb SD cards. Just refuses to recognize them. I expect that that problem will slowly disappear as old gear disappears.

I have no experience at all in this area, I guess I'm getting to old. You could try the the Ipod Shuffle, small & reasonably priced. My wife & I have checked the various ones out. Maybe someday. Do they still make 8-track tapes? ;)
