Blade is carbon steel. Very sharp. This is a real sword not a display piece. There's several videos on YouTube of this cutting up various large objects. One has a guy cutting two pigs in half with one blow. Pretty impressive sword. Leather grip and ricasso cover. I still have box with certificate of authenticity.
