The first time I saw the adds for the new Vinci, I got pretty excited. Id been saving up since I was about 10 to get a nice auto loader, and I thought this would be the gun. Then, when pictures began being leaked, I was horrified by its looks. I decided that I probably shouldn't judge a book by its cover, and therefore set out to get a chance to hold the gun. I knew my best bet to be able to actually handle the gun (and a few others!) would be Ahlman's in Morristown. (ive found its very minor friendly, If I walk in there and politely ask to see guns there thrilled to let me handle them[im 15]) I set out to get my dad to bring me there the next weekend, we ended up bringing the 500 rounds of junk 12 gauge along to and blew those off in the range first with my old 1100, then we went in to check out the Vinci. *gasp* as he hands me the gun, I realize its even uglier in person, but the second I hold it to my shoulder, I realized why. The ergonomics of this gun are great! (I held the 26'' barrel version) The gun didn't snag at all, and It was lighter than almost any 12 gauge I had shot before. (other than its brother, the ultralight) In the intention of not being biased, I decided to hold the browning maxus as well, brownings new high tech 12 gauge, they weight was about the same, but the maxus's stock and grip just felt plasticy and cheep, it bent in with any amount of pressure, and the upper part of the bad had an angle That consistently snagged my hoodie, so I set it down, and asked for my benelli back. I had to leave without it, because my dad didnt have any cash, it was just a scouting trip, that was about 6 months ago and I have all necessary funds acquired. My dad loved it so much as well, that he sold his belgium made browning O/U 2 weeks ago and he's going to buy his when I get mine this summer (Next time I plan on being out there is shooters round up because I have a summer job at a cub scout camp on the saint croix river which requires me to stay there all summer) This is just an initial review, Part 1 of 2, Ill update it when I actually purchase the gun.
Shooting better than you since 1995.
