Covert Carrier ....Feedback Please!

Postby VikesFan1 on Wed Jan 14, 2009 12:17 am

Hello,

Has anyone tried the CovertCarrier: http://www.covertcarrier.com/id1.html

Is it any good or is there something better along the same lines?

I really like the idea but I'm not so sure about the little clip on the grip while you're shooting... :?: :?: :?:

Is there something as good or better? Yep. A holster. A real, honest to goodness holster. if it needs to be buried, get a tuckable holster. For the firearms shown, get a pocket holster, I conceal a full sized 1911 very well with an IWB that Vlad made for me with not much more than a t-shirt for a cover garment. Talk to Vlad and Srigs, they will be happy to point you in the right direction, and away from this Micky Mouse ****.

I use a P11 with a clip. I would not do this with a bigger gun than that.

I found a video of it:

It DOES seem Micky Mouse... but it achieves the total concealment that I'm after... :hmm:

Strad, do either of those guys make something that will achieve this with a shirt tucked in? Do you have a link to some pictures or info?

Horsey Sauce, what kind of clip do you have?

Thanks!

If I were you I would talk with Vlad or Srigs directly and avoid Stard as much as possible. From what I have seen if you ask they either try or can do.

VikesFan1-

Do not go with this clip deal. Your pistol should be carried in a holster that properly and completely covers the gun's trigger guard. Anything else is unsafe.

What JoeH said.

Trigger guard must be covered.
Because I care, I carry.

True dat. I could go for some routine adjusting and grab the wrong thing!

Thanks for the help fellas. I think I'm going to investigate the above mentioned avenues instead.

This would not work with many. They suffer from dun-lap disorder.

It probably was, but it's OK, the directions for the "Covert Carrier" clearly state not to use their product with a round in the chamber.

This device reminds me of the jentra clip that they sold out at the Dakota range, theoreticly its an o.k. at best idea (so is communism), but for style, comfort, retention, concealability and safety, I would talk to one of our resident retention courtiers before i thought about this thing too much.
