kholster review

Kholster review while at a certain great 'get together' with just the wife, no kids.
I started the day at 8:30 putting on an A-shirt tucked in with a tropical on top. Holster at 3:30 with strong forward cant. Carried XD9SC with 13 round magazine (flush fit). Checked in the mirror and very happy how shirt always slid down whenever I stood straight.

While standing in a long line at Dunwoody waiting for the bus, the family of four behind me left the line after 10 minutes. I was a little paranoid but they didn't look back at me as they walked nor got on the phone so I don't think it was because they 'made' me. After a continued long wait and a 30 minute bus drive, it seems they made a good choice.

It felt very comfortable carrying and walking around. No signage when I walked in regarding carrying. It was a cool day at first but got plenty warm later. I didn't find the holster caused me to sweat any more than usual. Crowds weren't too bad, no bumping, but if personal space was tight, I just draped my arm back. I did lots of standing and walking all day long. All was good until I went to the bathroom at the trough, couldn't really adjust things there and I wasn't totally happy with the position when I went back out. Sure enough, about two hours later, I had a hot spot on my hip and wasn't happy. This was about 6 hours in, however I think that if I had set the holster right (about an inch higher up on the hip) I would've been able to go longer. I started stealing adjustments here and there to relieve pressure.

So all-in-all, I liked this option. I prefer thunderwear when with the kids, but for adult time, the kholster is easy to wear.

I haven't tried tucking with it, maybe someday…..

Thanks.
I think you would be surprised that 40% 50% 80% of the people you come across won't even see a pistol on your hip, even if you were open carry.
If you are made, just tell them it's the top of a catheter bag.

Holy old thread bump, Batman. I'll just add to this that I've had a Kholster for my Springfield XD9 for about 8 months now and I LOVE it. The only thing I don't love about it, is the screws that hold the belt clips on....if you EVER loosen them to adjust the angle, they'll never stay tight again. I have to re-tighten them once a month. I suppose I could try some Lock-Tite or something. The holster did squeek (new leather on metal clips) for a couple weeks, but has since gone away. I haven't modified mine at all and I love it. A lot of people modify it to get a better grip on it while drawing, but I've gotten quite comfortable drawing as-is. I carry at about the 4 o'clock position and can tuck a shirt in no problem, and the only way I print is if I'm bent over with the shirt tucked in. I am 5'10", 140 lbs so the XD9 is a bit large for me to be carrying, but the gun rarely prints surprisingly.
