What kind of leather gun belts do you like?

I recently ordered a beltman belt and was disappointed.
While the workmanship was great, I was not happy with the quality of the leather.
I have had 3 belts made by Rafter S and they were excellent; I still have a sharkskin belt that still fits me after my weight loss and continue to wear it daily. The other belt I found outstanding was made by Tucker gun leather out of Texas ; except it was 1 1/2" wide and I found that too wide for most of the belt loops on my jeans.
The big difference was the weight of the leather and the beltman belt instructions said not to use leather conditioner. I use Coach leather conditioner on all of my holsters and belts.

What have been your favorites and why?

I have two beltman belts and am very happy with both. One is a quick ship belt in black and one is a custom elephant hide belt.

I am in need of a new belt. The one I have is sturdy enough, but it is a bit more than the 1.5 inch it was sold as. Makes it a REAL pain to deal with IWB clips.

I'm seriously thinking of trying Amish...for $30 it's not much gone if it doesn't make me happy.

5.11 tactical instructor belt. Cheap and works well.

Which one would everybody suggest for a Fat guy? Most likely need custom sized, since all they normally carry are the "Children" sizes

Pretty sure I will hate the detail stitching on the 5.11, but I can color it for that price. Two belts shipped for $30, that gives me three options to hold myself till I decide. The more I look, the more confused I am.

One thing to keep in mind at larger sizes, getting the lined belt seems to be more important.

+1 on the Looper belt and Unholstered.com. Plus, Ron apparently sprints to the post office within seconds of receiving your order.

Mine's a year and a half old now and I like it a lot.

Sorry for the delayed response. Break in was actually pretty quick, but I have a 31" waist, 35" overall belt length order. I use it for both Iwb and owb which is why I went 7 holes on the custom order.

Haven't used conditioner, but would not hesitate to do so given it is a shorter belt. Both belts are 1.5 "
