K9 hearing protection (Mutt Muffs)

Postby unfitmother on Tue Jul 21, 2015 9:05 am

I just adopted a 7 month old lab/collie mix, and I'm excited to take her to the range, and along with on small game and deer hunting trips. I want to protect her hearing while at the range, so I bought a pair of dog ear muffs while I save up for a silencer 8-)

My range is closed for the month of July, so I will have to report back on how they work. So far, she doesn't seem to mind them too much.

Anyone else have any experience with K9 ear-pro?

I've only read about the Mutt Muff brand. Where did you get yours and what brand/model?

do they send you drugs to give to the dog so they don't freak out to shed the ear muffs..........I don't think my dog would tolerate them. it would be interesting to try.........

No drugs. I had just taken her on a very long walk, and was giving her lots of treats so she would have a positive experience. I was suprized that she layed down like that though.

Also, I didn't snug the velcro straps down as tight as they should be. I'm gonna work up to that over the next 2 weeks.
