...and some with tomatoes with which they pelted the protesters.

Much as I'm inclined to cheer... couldn't this be considered assault? Or is it one of those things, nowadays, that depends on who's the peltee and who is the pelter?

Couldn't really call all of them, Neo-Nazi...

More than likely assault or something of the sort. Although the degree of assault probably depends on whether they are hard green tomatoes or mushy rotten ones.
Either way it is a good reason why I wouldn't actually be participating in the throwing. But likewise, would be inclined to cheer.

...there are some keyboard commandos hereabouts that would consider the threat of getting hit by a tomato comparable to Great Bodily Harm,
thus invoking the dreaded what if self defense reaction scenario......

could escalate you know..... :o

I'd use my street fighting/UFC skills first.

It's got to be chapters. I know there is a small gaggle of KKK, complete with grand-poomba, operating in northern Minnesota.

Oh... I'm sure some ambulance chaser somewhere could come up with a way to sue for damages, as a result of the "victim" being hit with a tomato.

That stained, sleeveless shirt is now ruined. Damages! Damages!

When is the last time a white supremacist protest hasn't been outnumbered by the counter-protesters?

There is apparently quite a large underground movement. Poke around the web. Start with a Google search for "Stillehilfe."
