If you get a kidney from your kid, you still need antirejection drugs.
If you get a kidney grown from your child's umbilical stem cells you still need antirejection drugs.
If you are young enough that they saved your umbilical cord for the purpose of stem cell harvesting, you're still in middle school.
For the rest of us, all we get are the subcutaneous fat stem cells (which is just fine, because they can be harvested at will and don't require that a source of your genetic material be stored where you have no control over it).
