ASSAULT:

Assault 3---Significant Bodily Harm

35XX Emerson Ave N Tuesday 2/15/11 0028 hrs 11-042659

Officers were dispatched to an assault in progress at this location. Officers observed V1/male, 20 yrs, in a snow bank & attempted to speak to him, but he ignored officers. Officer used his t-shirt to apply pressure to the back of V1’s head, where blood was coming from. W1/female, 37 yrs, lives at this address & stated she heard 2 loud male voices outside on the sidewalk. W1 saw S1/male, 36 yrs, tip V1 over & drop him on his head. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. Hospital staff said V1 was heavily intoxicated & uncooperative, resisting care from the ER staff. V1’s injuries are unclear, but he sustained a large laceration on the back of his head. It is also unclear if this was an assault or a non-vehicular accident.



Assault 2---With a Dangerous Weapon

11XX 21st Ave N Tuesday 2/15/11 0130 hrs 11-042690

Officers were flagged down by V1/male, 24 yrs, & his wife, W1. They advised officers that AP1/male, 48 yrs, hit V1 several times in the head with a piece of pipe. V1 stated he stopped by AP1’s residence to try to get a cigarette. AP1 was very intoxicated when he let V1 & W1 inside. An argument ensued & AP1 picked up the pipe & struck V1 several times, chasing him out of the house. AP1 was arrested & booked in HCJ for PC Assault 2. V1 suffered lacerations to his head & a swollen face & was taken to the hospital via ambulance.















Assault 2---With a Dangerous Weapon / Assault 5—Attempt to cause Bodily Harm

6XX Lowry Ave N Tuesday 2/15/11 2023 hrs 11-043517

Officers were dispatched to a person with a gun call & arrived at the incident address, a convenience store. V1/male, 30-45 yrs, met officers & stated that a group of 5 young males came into the store & assaulted him. V1 stated that AP1/male, 17 yrs, punched him in the face. V1 also stated that he saw a gun, but it was unclear if he was threatened with it or if he was struck with it, due to a language barrier. As officers were leaving the store, AP1 came back, banging on the door, attempting to get in. AP1 stated he didn’t do anything and that he wanted his phone. V1 positively ID’d AP1 as the person who struck him. AP1 was issued a citation for 5th Degree Assault & released to his mother. Other suspects were GOA.



Assault 2---With a Dangerous Weapon

29XX Emerson Ave N Wednesday 2/16/11 2143 hrs 11-044756

Officers responded to the report of a fight at this location. 3 males (cousins), had been drinking together & got into a physical altercation. Two parties walked away & the 3rd returned to his home. Later, officers were flagged down in this area & told that 2 males had been run over by a van. Ambulance was ordered. V1/30 yrs, told officers that S1/25-30 yrs, the party who went home, returned to the victims location & ran over V1, & V2/29 yrs. V2, who was in intense pain, refused to speak to officers & refused treatment from Paramedics who wanted to look at him & have him enter the ambulance. V2 was given a medical release by Paramedics, which he refused to sign. Officers witnessed V2’s refusal to sign. S1 was GOA.



Assault 4---Police/Emergency Personnel / 2nd Degree Domestic Asslt / Obstruct legal Process

39XX Thomas Ave N Thursday 2/17/11 1835 hrs 11-045644

Officers responded to a Domestic Assault call with weapons. AP1/male, 21 yrs, came out of the kitchen with his arms spread out. AP1 began to fight with officers as they attempted to take him into custody. One officer was struck in the head by AP1 while attempting to gain control of him. AP1 was handcuffed & knives were recovered off his person. AP1 was booked in HCJ for Domestic Assault 2, & for Assault 4 for striking the officer in the head. Officer received a minor injury to his head.



Assault 1st Degree---Great Bodily Harm

3XX 24th Ave N Thursday 2/17/11 2200 hrs 11-046426

Officer responded to a stabbing. V1/male, 50 yrs, stated he was partying with a female friend, 42 yrs, her boyfriend, 43 yrs, & S1/female, 39 yrs, who is the sister of V1’s female friend. They all consumed a great quantity of alcohol & V1 got into an argument with the male, & S1. V1 did not remember the cause of the argument, but remembered being hit in the head by a TV set, which caused a severe laceration & knocked him to the ground. S1 then stabbed V1 in the back with a long handled knife. V1 walked home from this location. When V1 woke up later & couldn’t breathe, he called his care giver & the care giver notified police. An ambulance took V1 to the hospital. Paramedics stated V1 possibly suffered a punctured lung & the laceration was deep & very serious. No further info re: the suspect.



Assault 4---Police/Emergency Personnel

17XX Glenwood Ave Saturday 2/19/11 0923 hrs 11-047274

Uniformed officers were investigating a damage to auto. AP1/male, 57 yrs, was being interviewed when he “headbutted” the officer in the face. A witness told officers that AP1 was a “crack head.” Officers placed AP1 in handcuffs as he was very agitated & acting in a bizarre manner. AP1 admitted breaking the neighbor’s car window by throwing a garbage can at it. AP1 was booked in HCJ. Officer suffered a minor injury.



Assault 2---With a Dangerous Weapon / Assault 5—Attempt to Cause Bodily Harm

25XX Golden Valley Rd Sunday 2/20/11 0018 hrs 11-047998

Officers were dispatched to an assault in progress. Remarks in the call said that 2 parties known to V1/female, 40 yrs, assaulted her & that AP1/female, 22 yrs, put a knife to V1’s throat, telling her she was going to kill her. W1/male, 48 yrs, the boyfriend of V1, informed officers that V1 got into an argument with AP1 & AP2/ female, 21 yrs, over staying the night. V1 wanted the 2 AP’s to leave. AP1 then grabbed a butcher knife & placed it against V1’s throat. W1 yanked the knife out of AP1’s hand. The AP’s then punched V1 several times in the face. V1 declined medical assistance. AP1 had cuts on her hand from when the knife was yanked away. She was transported to the hospital for medical treatment & then booked in HCJ for PC Asslt 2. AP2 was ID’d & tagged in lieu of arrest for 5th Degree Assault.

Morgan Ave N & Olson Mem. Hwy Monday 2/21/11 0910 hrs 11-048723

V1/male, 35 yrs, phoned police due to a road rage incident, where AP1/male, 32 yrs, pulled a gun on V1. AP1’s vehicle caused V1’s vehicle to swerve & run into a snow bank. At that time AP1 pulled a gun & pointed it in V1’s general direction. V1 ducked out of fear & AP1 drove off. V1 was able to direct officers to AP1’s location, as he followed him. AP1’s vehicle was stopped & a handgun was recovered from the glove compartment. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Assault 2. V1 was not injured.







ROBBERY:

26TH Ave N & Penn Ave N Tuesday 2/15/11 1831 hrs 11-043374

Officer was dispatched to the report of an assault & met 2 male siblings, V1/20 yrs, & W1/14 yrs. V1 said he went to the “Boys & Girls Club” to pick up his brother, W1, but discovered he was gone. V1 received info that his brother was involved in a fight. V1 learned his brother was on the corner of 26th & Penn N & observed a large crowd. V1 saw that his brother was about to be jumped & approached the group. V1 was approached by S4/male, 15-18 yrs, who swung at him & they began boxing. Another male suspect punched V1 in the face & he was body slammed into a snow bank. V1 was then kicked in the face & a chain holding his wallet to his pants was broken. A suspect took $7 in cash & left the wallet behind. Suspects fled. V1 had a swollen right eye, but refused medical.

36XX Penn Ave N Thursday 2/17/11 0808 hrs 11-045123

Unknown S1/male, 28-32 yrs, approached V1/female, 49 yrs, at the bus stop & asked for a cigarette. V1 stated she didn’t smoke. S1 returned & again asked for a cigarette. S1 then grabbed V1’s purse & attempted to pull it from her shoulder. V1 struggled with S1 over the purse & only let go when S1 punched her in the face & fled with the purse. S1 also attempted to grab the purse from an approaching female, & knocked her to the ground. V1 refused medical. Loss included the purse; wallet; ID; $27 in cash; & a cell phone. S1 was GOA.

6XX Broadway Ave W Thursday 2/17/11 1315 hrs 11-045592

V1/female, 56 yrs, parked her car & was walking in the parking lot when she was pushed or bumped from behind. Unknown S1/male, 20-30 yrs, grabbed V1’s purse & fled. V1 was not injured. Loss included the purse & $400 in cash. S1 was GOA.

37XX Girard Ave N Thursday 2/17/11 1500 hrs 11-045490

V1/male, 51 yrs, informed officers that a friend he only knows by a street name, phoned him & let him know that he would be right over with a car that V1 could buy. V1 had $1060 in cash on his person when he observed a white, 4-door Camry parked in front of his address. V1 observed 3 males in the vehicle & a passenger waved V1 over & told him to get in the back of the car. The driver took them all on a little ride, while they discussed the sale of the car. V1 was told to give S1 his cash for the title, which he did. S1 would not provide the title to V1 & instead, turned in his seat & pointed a Glock 9mm handgun at V1. V1 was ordered out of the car & V1 demanded his money back. The vehicle sped off & V1 phoned police. V1 never saw these suspects, ages 20-22 yrs, before. V1 knows his friend “set him up.” V1 was not injured. Suspects were GOA. Loss is $1060.

34th Ave N & Penn Ave N Saturday 2/19/11 2200 hrs 11-047901

V1/male, 12 yrs, & V2/male, 16 yrs, are cousins. Victims were walking down the street when they were approached from behind by unknown S1/male, 16-18 yrs, who asked them if they wanted to buy marijuana. When they stated they weren’t interested, S1 pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun & demanded their money. Victims gave S1 whatever they had in their pockets & S1 then fled. Loss included $50 in cash; a TC Baseball hat; & a cell phone. Victims were not injured. Suspect was GOA.

Assault 2---with a Dangerous Weapon

39XX Thomas Ave N Friday 2/25/11 1935 hrs 11-053010

Officer responded to a possible attempted carjacking & met V1/male, 20 yrs, who was extremely distressed. Officer observed V1’s vehicle to have several shotgun pellet strikes across the hood & the driver’s side mirror was damaged by pellet strikes as well. V1 stated he had been told by S3/female,19-21 yrs, a friend of his, where to connect so she could take him to a dealer to buy marijuana. Once at that location, S3 was not there. A black Grand Prix approached V1’s vehicle within a foot. S1/male, 20-21 yrs, exited the driver’s door & approached V1’s parked vehicle, reaching in to attempt to open his door. At this time, S2/male, unknown age, was out of the suspect vehicle & holding a long barreled shotgun. V1 threw his car in reverse & then sped forward as S2 fired shots at him. V1 ducked down & the shots hit his vehicle, but not V1. Suspects left the area in their vehicle. V1 believes that S3 set him up. No injuries.

43rd Ave N & Fremont Ave North Sunday 2/27/11 0115 hrs 11-054153

Officer went to the hospital in response to a shooting report. V1/male, 21 yrs, had 2, possibly 3, gunshot wounds to his knee & lower leg. The wounds were non-life threatening. V1 stated he was walking home when a black, 4-door sedan pulled up alongside him & unknown S1/male, unknown age, hung out the front window & asked V1 if he wanted some weed. V1 declined & S1 shot at the victim. Two other males were inside the vehicle, which sped off. V1’s mother took him to the hospital for treatment. No further info at this time.

Golden Valley Rd & Vincent Ave N Wednesday 2/23/11 1250 hrs 11-051699

V1/male, 37 yrs, was at the bus stop at this location when he was approached by 3 male suspects, 20-30 yrs, all wearing dark ski masks. One of the suspects pointed a black .38 revolver at V1 & demanded his wallet. Suspects took V1’s check card & demanded his PIN number. V1 gave a false number & one suspect left in a vehicle & returned a short time later, demanding the correct PIN or they would shoot V1. V1 then provided the correct PIN & the party left again, returning to pick up the other 2 suspects. V1 stated he contacted his bank & $900 is missing from his account. No injuries.

15XX West Broadway Wednesday 2/23/11 1800 hrs 11-050954

Officer was dispatched to meet 2 victims of a robbery. V1/female, 16 yrs, & V2/female, 18 yrs, are sisters. Victims went to the Unbank on 15th & Broadway to cash V2’s check. Unknown S1/male, 21-24 yrs, was at the Unbank & saw the victims receive a large amount of cash. S1 approached V1 & V2, asking them if they would like to buy some shoes he had stolen from a mall. S1 led the victims to his car & they got in. After S1 drove to the rear of an address, he pulled a black & silver handgun from the glove compartment & pointed it at V2, demanding all her money. V2 complied & handed S1 $750. V1 handed over $5 & her cell phone. S1 ordered the victims out of his car & he drove off. Victims were not injured. S1 was GOA.

It should be noted this suspect is possibly the same suspect in CCN 11-050897…see other CCN…



ROBBIZ

18XX Lowry Ave N Wednesday 2/23/11 1800 hrs 11-050897

Officers were called to the above location on a robbery of biz. V1/female, 23 yrs, was the only one in the store when unknown S1/male, 19-22 yrs, walked in with a black & silver gun in his hand & demanded all the money from the register. V1 had her purse on the counter behind her desk. S1 went to the back room area & grabbed a few cell phones still in the packages. S1 pulled V1 to the register & forced her to open it. S1 grabbed $150 in various bills, as well as change, & placed it all in V1’s purse. S1 had set down the gun & V1 grabbed it, trying to hide it. S1 realized this & put his hand over hers, which was on the trigger. They struggled & a shot went off, hitting a wall. S1 was able to wrestle the gun from V1’s hand & V1 sustained a small cut on her hand in the process. S1 grabbed V1’s purse & ran from the store. V1 refused medical. It should be noted that this incident may be related to CCN 11-050954…see previous CCN…. V1’s purse & wallet are valued at $200.

Broadway Ave W & Penn Ave N Wednesday 2/23/11 2200 hrs 11-051802

V1/a juvenile male (age not listed), was jumped by 2 males after he exited an MTC bus at the above location. V1 notified his Student Affairs Director, who reported this incident to MTP Officers. The 2 unknown suspects are 20-30 yrs, & one wore a bandana over his face. S1 grabbed V1 around his neck, while S2 reached into V1’s pockets & took his i-Pod & cell phone. No further information at this time.

8TH Ave N & Morgan Ave N Friday 2/25/11 2010 hrs 11-053026

Officers responded to shots fired in the above area & were directed to V1’s location in another area. V1 stated he was visiting a friend & was walking down the street when S1/male, 35 yrs, jumped out of some bushes & pointed a handgun at V1. S1 demanded V1’s money & V1 fled on foot, stating he heard approx. 9 shots. V1 went to a residence & asked to be let in. V1 was not injured & there was no loss. S1 was GOA.

Fremont Ave N & Lowry Ave N Friday 2/25/11 2241 hrs 11-053417

V1/female, (age not listed), struggled with an unknown suspect at this location, while awaiting the bus. S1 fled the scene. V1 advised the driver that her purse had been taken. The bus driver contacted MTPD on V1’s behalf, but when Officer arrived, V1 had already left the bus. Unknown if there was any loss (besides the purse), or if V1 sustained any injuries.

35XX 6th St N Sunday 2/27/11 1842 hrs 11-054611

V1/male, 18 yrs, stated he had been robbed at knifepoint at the above location. V1 went to this area with his friend, OT1/male, 20 yrs, to buy some clothes. V1 made his purchase when S1/male, 19 yrs, asked V1 if he had change for a $20. V1 said yes & at this time, AP1/male, 20 yrs, took $270 from V1’s pocket. V1 was then pushed out of the house. V1 took officers to the above area to search for the parties involved. Officers located AP1, AP2/male, 14 yrs, & OT1. S1 was GOA. Officers conducted a “show-up” & V1 positively ID’d AP1 & AP2, & OT1. AP1 was booked in HCJ for Agg. Robbery. AP2 was booked in JDC for the same charge.







WEAPONS:

WEAP—Carry a Weapon w/out a Permit / Narcotics Violation / Forced Entry

12XX Knox Ave N Thursday 2/24/11 1152 hrs 11-051547

Officers executed a search warrant at the above location. A gun & suspected narcotics were recovered. AP1/male, 31 yrs, was booked in HCJ for PC Narcotics & PC Weapons.

25th Ave N & 4th St N Thursday 3/3/11 0200 hrs 11-057823

V1/male, 31 yrs., was standing in the street at this location. V1 was bleeding from the side of his head, but it was not a gunshot wound, as V1 suspected. V1 was pretty vague about the incident & by his own account, was DK. V1 advised he had been drinking & left a bar with his cousin & others. V1 was transported to his girlfriend’s house. When V1 left the vehicle, he said he was jumped by 3 unknown males. V1 said he was hit in the head with something & at the same time heard a loud bang. V1 suffered a large laceration on the side of his head & was transported to the hospital. Suspects were GOA.



Assault 2---With a Dangerous Weapon

Fremont Ave N & Lowry Ave N Thursday 3/3/11 2125 hrs 11-058805

Officer responded to an assault on a bus driver in the above area. V1/male, 52 yrs, stated he opened the bus door & 4 young males, 12-16 yrs, threw ice chunks at the driver. Driver was not injured, but stated this is the 2nd time he has been assaulted in approx. the last 3 weeks. Suspects were GOA. Driver refused medical.

















Assault 3---Significant Bodily Harm

8th Ave N & Humboldt Ave N Friday 3/4/11 1626 hrs 11-059247

Officers were dispatched to the above location on a Personal Injury accident. Officers observed V1/male, 50 yrs, bleeding from the nose & mouth. AP1/ female, 23 yrs, was by the other vehicle that was involved. V1 told officers that he & AP1 were involved in a small accident with no injuries. AP1 got out of her vehicle after the accident & punched V1 twice in the face through his open car window, knocking 2 of his teeth loose & injuring V1’s nose & mouth. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Assault 3. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance.







ROBBERY:

ROBPAG / KIDNAPPING

36th Ave N & Penn Ave N Wednesday 3/2/11 2030 hrs 11-058363

Officers were dispatched to a person with a gun call. V1/male, 35 yrs, told officer he had been robbed at gunpoint the night before. AP1/male, 18 yrs, pulled a semi-automatic gun on V1 & forced him into a vehicle, where 2 other male suspects were present. AP1 & other suspects told V1 to give them all his money or they would shoot him. V1 complied & forfeited $325 in cash. AP1 & suspects then forced him out of the vehicle. The next day, V1 spotted AP1 at the above location & yelled as AP1 got into another vehicle with several others. V1 followed this vehicle in his own & called police. The suspect vehicle fled & ran a red light, striking an innocent motorist at the corner of Penn & Dowling. AP1 & others then fled on foot & officers located AP1 a short time later. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Agg Robbery; & PC Kidnapping from the prior days’ incident. V1 was not injured.

28XX Irving Ave N Thursday 3/3/11 2025 hrs 11-058493

Officer was dispatched to a robbery of person & was flagged down by V1/female, 50 yrs. V1 stated she was walking from the bus stop when she passed unknown S1/male, 28-35 yrs. V1 said hello & kept walking. About 20 steps later, V1 was grabbed around the neck from behind by S1. V1 was able to spin & keep herself from being thrown to the ground. S1 ripped V1’s purse from her shoulder & ran away. V1 & officer later recovered her purse which had been dumped upside down & emptied. V1 said there was no money in it & no noticeable loss. V1 stated she was not injured & refused medical. S1 was GOA.

34th Ave N & Bryant Ave N Thursday 3/3/11 2045 hrs 11-058523

Officers responded to a robbery of person at gunpoint. V1/male, 27 yrs, told officer he was walking down the street when unknown S1 & S2, males, 18-25 yrs, walked out from between 2 houses. The suspects approached V1 and asked for a smoke. As V1 reached toward his pocket, he heard what sounded like a gun being “racked.” S1 stood in front of V1 while S2 went through his pockets. Both suspects were wearing black ski masks that covered the lower half of their faces. V1 was not injured.

V1/female, 36 yrs, stated she was walking home from 22nd & Lyndale Ave N, & S1/male, 47 yrs, her ex-boyfriend, was following her. S1 followed V1 to the above location & tried to throw her down on the sidewalk. S1 grabbed the wallet from V1’s hands, as well as her apt. keys. S1 then left on foot. V1 was not injured & did not need medical assistance. Loss includes V1’s Coach wallet valued at $50; $380 in cash; ID/papers; & 2 apt. keys. Suspect was GOA.

Officers were dispatched to a robbery of person at gunpoint. Officers met V1/male, 46 yrs, who was extremely DK. V1 stated he gave a ride to unknown S1/male, 20 yrs, & this suspect called other people, & they robbed him at gunpoint of $7000 in cash. V1 stated he owns property & was flashing $7000 around at the bus station where he met S1 & gave him a ride. V1 could hardly stand he was so DK. V1 could not provide specific information on the suspects, but stated they touched stuff in his car. V1 also stated one of the suspects used his cell phone. V1’s car & phone were dusted for prints. No further information at this time.

18th Ave N & Fremont Ave N Friday 3/4/11 1450 hrs 11-059187

V1/male, 22 yrs, is an independent salesman for a steak company & was driving in the above area when he observed unknown S1/male, 28-32 yrs, walking down the street. V1 asked S1 if he wanted a good deal on some steaks & S1 replied yes, so V1 pulled over. V1 went to the rear of the truck & as he bent over, S1 struck V1 in the face with an unknown object, knocking him to the ground. S1 then fled on foot with a box of steaks valued at $111. Suspect was GOA. V1 suffered a swollen right eye & cut lip.

36th Ave N & James Ave N Monday 3/7/11 1640 hrs 11-062023

Officers were dispatched to a robbery of person call & met V1/male, 18 yrs, who told them he got off his school bus & began walking home when he was approached by unknown S1/male, 14-16 yrs, on a bicycle. S1 got off his bike & reached into his jacket by his shoulder, implying he had a gun. S1 demanded whatever V1 had in his pockets. V1 put his hands in the air & S1 grabbed V1’s i-Pod out of his pants pocket. S1 then fled on his bike. V1 was not injured. The i-Pod is valued at $100.

McNair Ave & Queen Ave N Monday 3/7/11 1855 hrs 11-062184

Officers responded to an Aggravated Robbery incident. V1/female, 26 yrs, stated she was dropped off by her sister at the liquor store & a green, 4-door sedan similar to a Saturn, pulled up & a party asked what she was doing. V1 continued into the store & upon her exit, she stated the same vehicle pulled up & unknown S1/male, 18 yrs, jumped out, held a silver handgun to her head & yelled something about giving him her money. V1 stated she only had $5 in her purse & asked if it was worth killing her for it. At that time, a female jumped from the car & grabbed V1’s purse. V1 asked for her ID back, stating they could have the purse. V1 said that S1 racked the gun & shot a round in the ground near her feet. Both suspects then jumped back into the vehicle & took off. V1 did not suffer a loss & was not injured. The staff & witnesses at the liquor store believe V1 made up the story, as they did not hear anything, even though they were very close to the incident location. Dispatch did not have any “shot spotter” activity registered at this location, either. It is unknown if this Agg. Robbery actually occurred.

Officer observed AP1/male, 22 yrs, walking down the street. AP1 dropped his backpack between a snow bank & a parked vehicle when he saw the squad. Officer retrieved the backpack & located a black handgun inside. AP1 fled on foot & ran into an occupied dwelling. The female occupant stated she did not know AP1 & he did not have permission to be inside her residence. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons; PC Burglary; & Fleeing an Officer on Foot.

34XX Emerson Ave N Sunday 3/6/11 2350 hrs 11-061481

Officers responded to a robbery of person in progress at gunpoint. Officers observed several males exit the above address & run toward an awaiting vehicle. Officers were able to apprehend AP1/male, 33 yrs, & AP2/male, 22 yrs, at gunpoint. AP1 was found in the possession of V1’s car keys, as well as other property belonging to V1/male, 26 yrs. A firearm was located in close proximity of AP2 at the time of his arrest. A large quantity of suspected marijuana & a bottle of pepper spray were located inside the vehicle with AP1. V1 stated that AP1 held the handgun during the robbery & he sprayed V1 with the pepper spray, as well as struck him in the face. AP2 also had possession of the gun at one during the robbery. During a “Show Up” the victims were able to positively ID both AP’s. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Robbery; PC Weapons; PC Narcotics; & PC Auto Theft. AP2 was booked in HCJ for PC Robbery & PC Weapons.

11XX 7th St N Monday 3/7/11 0256 hrs 11-061555

Officers observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn & a TLE was conducted . As soon as officers made contact with the driver, AP1/male, 19 yrs, & AP2/male, 18 yrs, the front passenger, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Both AP’s were removed from the vehicle & since officers have had numerous contacts before with AP1, who has been threatening & hostile in the past, both parties were placed in handcuffs. Officers located suspected marijuana in a backpack & a fully loaded 6-shot revolver was concealed in the front center console. Since both AP’s had access to the weapon, they were both booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

15XX Penn Ave N Monday 3/7/11 1114 hrs 11-061729

Officers stopped AP1/male, 18 yrs, at the above location for Truancy. AP1 stated he was of age & when officer ran his name via computer, it was found he was 18 & had a warrant. AP1 was placed under arrest for the WT & was found to be in the possession of a CO2 BB gun. AP1 also had a bag of BB’s in his pocket. AP1 was booked in HCJ for the WT & possession of a BB gun in public.

37TH Ave N & 6th St N Monday 3/7/11 1557 hrs 11-061988

Officer responded to a person with a gun call & observed a party matching the description, walking down the street. Officer caught up with AP1/male, 21 yrs, & observed the butt end of a handgun coming out of his front jacket pocket. AP1 was taken into custody & booked for in HCJ for PC Weapons, as AP1 was a felon in possession of a handgun.

Officers responded to an Assault in progress at the above location. V1/female, 45 yrs, told officers that she was hanging around this residence with 4 male friends. AP1/male, 49 yrs, got into an argument with V1 & held a knife to her throat from behind, stating he would kill her. AP1 dragged V1 to the kitchen, where V1 threw a glass cup at AP1 & was able to escape to another room. AP1 had been friends with V1 for approx. 20 yrs. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Assault 2.



Assault 3---Significant Bodily Harm

23XX 4th St N Tuesday 3/8/11 2235 hrs 11-063451

V1/male, 27 yrs, was in his apt. when there was a knock on the door. V1 observed known S1/male, 27 yrs, & told him he was no longer welcome there & could not come in. V1 stepped out on the deck with S1 & closed the door. S1 punched V1 in the face with a fist & ran down the back stairs. V1 stated his face hurt really bad & was transported by ambulance to the hospital with a possible broken nose. S1 was GOA.



Assault 2---With a Dangerous Weapon

3XX 30th Ave N Friday 3/11/11 2240 hrs 11-066560

Officers were dispatched to a fight at the above address. Officers observed AP1/female, 17 yrs, attempting to get into the bathroom, but the door was being held shut by V1/male, 32 yrs. Officers took AP1 into custody. V1 was removed from the bathroom with numerous cuts to his torso & arms. V1 stated he was cut with an unknown object when he attempted to stop AP1 from hitting another person in the residence. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. AP1 was transported to the Juvenile Unit & later booked for PC Assault 2.

15XX Logan Ave N Saturday 3/12/11 2015 hrs 11-067387

V1/male, 57 yrs, phoned police after he was assaulted by S1/female, 44 yrs, a former biz partner. V1 stated that S1 came over to his house & busted out a rear window. S1 then came back later & poured gasoline all over V1. V1 thought he saw a lighter in her hand. V1 stated they have never had a romantic relationship, though he believes S1 wanted one, & that was the reason for her anger. V1 suffered injuries to both of his eyes & was scratched by S1’s fingernails when she assaulted him. Officer could smell a strong odor of gasoline on V1. S1 was GOA. V1 refused medical attention, but his sweater was property inventoried.

Broadway Ave W & James Ave N Thursday 3/10/11 1730 hrs 11-065132

V1 stated she was walking down the street & looking at the screen of her i-Pod. V1 was approached from behind by unknown S1/male, 16-20 yrs, who stepped in front of her & grabbed the i-Pod from her hand. V1 grabbed S1’s arm in an attempt to keep him from taking the i-Pod. S1 then punched V1 in the stomach, which caused her to let go of him. S1 fled on foot & was GOA. V1 refused medical. The i-Pod is valued at $300.

30XX Logan Ave N Thursday 3/10/11 2039 hrs 11-065319

V1/male, 28 yrs, was walking down the street when 2 unknown male suspects, 15-20 yrs, walked up & asked him for a cigarette. Suspects then pointed a gun at V1. V1 stated S2 hit him twice in the side of the head with the handgun & demanded property. V1 told suspects he didn’t have anything & suspects ran off. V1 requested EMS & an ambulance arrived at the scene, noting no obvious injuries, just a possible bruising of V1’s ear. V1 was not transported to the hospital. No loss. Suspects were GOA.

26XX Morgan Ave N Friday 3/11/11 1039 hrs 11-065806

Officers responded to a robbery of person/carjacking. V1/female, 25 yrs, stated she picked up known S1/male, 30 yrs, & gave him a ride. S1 told V1 to take her to a drug house to buy drugs. V1 refused & S1 got mad, taking $320 in cash from the center console & pulling V1 out of the driver’s side by her hair. S1 drove off in V1’s vehicle. S1 was GOA.

22XX McNair Ave N Friday 3/11/11 1450 hrs 11-066079

V1/male, 43 yrs, stated he had been drinking with 2 unknown suspects/males, 15-30 yrs., on Chicago Ave South. The 3 boarded a bus & got off at Broadway Ave W & Penn Ave N, where the 2 suspects attempted to rob V1. V1 stated he had been knocked out & an ambulance was ordered to check him out. No loss. It should be noted that V1 could not recall details of the incident & was extremely DK.

5XX Cedar Lake Rd S Monday 3/14/11 2320 hrs 11-069333

V1/male, 60 yrs, parked his work van & walked toward his house. V1 was attacked by unknown S1/male, 20-30 yrs, who threw him violently to the ground. V1 suffered small abrasions & a bump on his hand when he tried breaking his fall. S1 demanded V1’s wallet & V1 complied. S1 then fled on foot. Police arrived within minutes & began a foot search with K9, but the suspect was not located. Loss included V1’s wallet; credit cards; DL; & $100 in cash. V1 declined medical assistance.

Fremont Ave N & Lowry Ave N Thursday 3/10/11 0930 hrs 11-064725

Officer stopped 3 males who appeared to be juveniles & in possible violation of truancy. When officer exited the squad, all 3 appeared to be nervous. AP1/male, 17 yrs, tried to walk away when officer spoke with them. AP1 also kept his hands in his pockets. When officer asked if he had any weapons, he did not respond & during a pat search, officer located a handgun in his jacket pocket. All 3 parties were ordered to the ground as officer waited for another squad & then recovered the gun from AP1’s pocket. The pellet gun resembled a real handgun. AP1 was transported to the Juvenile Unit & charged with PC Weapons. The other 2 parties, also 17 yrs, were transported to the Truancy Center.



WEAP---Carry a Weapon w/out a Permit / Narcotics Violation / Recovered Gun

26th Ave N & Knox Ave N Sunday 3/13/11 2148 hrs 11-068248

Officers observed a vehicle traveling without its headlights on & initiated a Traffic stop. Officers observed 3 parties in the vehicle & observed AP1/male, 25 yrs, the back seat passenger, acting as if he was trying to conceal something. As officers approached the vehicle, AP1 seemed very nervous. After officers had AP1 exit the vehicle & conducted a pat search on him, they observed a semi-automatic handgun in the immediate area where AP1 had been sitting. A pat search of the other 2 parties revealed that AP2/male, 20 yrs, had a small plastic bag containing suspected crack/cocaine. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons & AP2 was booked in HCJ for PC Narcotics.

MFD was called to a fire at this location. RP1/male, stated his son/RP2, observed smoke coming from this property & when RP1 also looked, he called 9-1-1. RP3/male, also phoned stating there was smoke coming from this property & that he saw 2 males running from the house. MFD determined the fire was started inside a built-in wood cabinet in the kitchen. Throughout the house were cigarette butts, empty cigarette packs; pops cans & bottles; & empty bags of snacks. The basement & first floors were tagged with graffiti. On 2/28/11, a burglary at the address revealed graffiti stating that someone was going to burn the house down. Due to the fact that kids have been seen hanging out near the home; that 2 parties were seen running from the property; that there was debris throughout the house; & a window was found closed, but unlocked; the cause of the fire was determined to be Arson. The fire was contained. No suspect info. No injuries. Estimated damage is $10,000.

43XX Thomas Ave N Sunday 3/20/11 0019 hrs 11-074729

Officers responded to a biz. alarm at this location. One of the windows on the east side of the biz. had been broken and the screen was cut. Inside the window was a bottle of lighter fluid & a white rag or t-shirt was visible at the top opening of the bottle. A witness told officers he had been watching TV when he heard a loud bang & saw 2 male suspects, 20-25 yrs, running from this location & jumping into a 4-door, silver vehicle, possibly a Lexus. The suspects were possibly scared off by the alarm, as the rag had not been lit. No injuries. Suspects were GOA.

Humboldt Ave N & Memorial Park Tuesday 3/15/11 0631 hrs 11-069503

V1/female, 41 yrs, was driving her vehicle on her way to work when a dark colored vehicle came up fast behind her. V1 came to a stop at the stop sign & the other vehicle pulled up to her driver’s side & fired 2 or 3 shots. V1’s driver’s door window was broken & V1 was struck in the upper arm. The suspect vehicle then sped off. V1 had no suspect information & is not aware of anyone out to get her. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance with non-life threatening wounds. Suspect vehicle was GOA.



Assault 2---w/a Dangerous Weapon / Flee Police in MV / Carry a Weapon w/out a Permit/ Squad Accident

42nd Ave N & Lyndale Ave N Tuesday 3/15/11 1432 hrs 11-069892

Officer was dispatched to 2 suspicious vehicles that were disrupting a funeral possession. As officer approached, he observed one of the suspect vehicles weaving in & out of traffic. The vehicle swerved & hit the front end of the squad, causing damage. Officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but AP1/male, 20 yrs, fled in the vehicle to escape capture. When the suspect vehicle crashed after a short pursuit, 3 to 4 suspects bailed & threw a gun out of the car. Officer gave chase to the driver, AP1, who was apprehended by K9 & taken down at gunpoint. During the apprehension, an officer received an accidental K9 bite. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Assault 2; PC Flee Police in a MV; misd. Driving after Suspension; & misd. Reckless Driving.



Assault 2---w/a Dangerous Weapon

14th Ave N & Penn Ave N Friday 3/18/11 0138 hrs 11-072686

Officer was dispatched to the hospital to take a report on a stabbing. V1/female, 19 yrs, stated she was walking down the street when a group of males & females, 18-30 yrs, pulled up behind her in a black SUV & jumped her. Suspects punched V1 several times, pulled her hair, & knocked her to the ground. They then got back into the SUV & left. V1 stated she did not get a good look at the suspects & could not ID them. When asked who would have done this, V1 thought it might be her boyfriend’s friends, as he has assaulted her before. V1 was stabbed once in her stomach during the assault, & went to the hospital. The wound is non-life threatening.

4XX Broadway Ave W Friday 3/18/11 2315 hrs 11-073685

Officer was dispatched to the hospital to take a Personal Injury report. V1/male, 23 yrs, told officer he was at the Wendy’s parking lot outside his car when he observed unknown S1/male, 20-25 yrs., drive into the lot & another male approach S1’s vehicle. V1 observed a clear bag of pills & suspected this was a drug deal, so he phoned 911. While V1 was on the phone with 911, S1 attempted to leave in his vehicle, but V1 walked to the back of S1’s vehicle & told him not to go anywhere, as police were en route. S1 disregarded V1 & drove into him, in order to leave the lot. V1 was struck in the torso & S1 drove off. V1 & W1/female, his girlfriend, attempted to follow the suspect but lost him. W1 drove V1 to the hospital where he said he felt pain in his neck & back area, as well as in his right leg. S1 was GOA.

5th Ave N & Newton Ave N Tuesday 3/15/11 2144 hrs 11-070326

V1/female, 23 yrs, was walking down the street when she was approached by 3 unknown males, 16-17 yrs, who demanded she give them her cell phone. S1 produced a black revolver, which V1 thought was a cap gun because he fired it in the air & the shot was very quiet. S2 took V1’s Blackberry cell phone valued at $500, & the suspects fled. V1 was not injured.

28th Ave N & Emerson Ave N Wednesday 3/16/11 1700 11-071054

Officers responded to a robbery of person & met V1 who stated he was on the corner at the above location, when he was approached by KNOWN S1/male, 31 yrs, who asked him if he had any change. V1 reached into his pockets to grab some change & also pulled out $400 in cash. S1 pulled out a black automatic handgun, pointed it at V1, & demanded all the cash. V1 gave S1 the cash, as he was frightened that he was going to get shot. S1 then ran off. No injuries. V1 stated S1 is a relative of his child & he did not know why S1 would rob him.

V1/female, 18 yrs, was walking down the street talking on her cell phone, when 3 males walked past her. V1 did not pay attention to the males. As she continued walking, V1 was approached by unknown S1/male, 20’s, who grabbed her purse while she was still talking on the phone. V1 was startled, thought it was a joke, & began laughing. S1 then placed a small handgun into her stomach & told her it was no joke. V1 immediately let go of her purse. S1 ran off with the 3 males observed earlier. V1 was not hurt & refused medical. Loss included V1’s purse valued at $30; $60 in cash; a cell phone worth $25; & an i-Pod valued at $150.

V1/male, 19 yrs, came into the Precinct to report that while he was waiting for the bus at the above location, unknown S1/male, 19-21 yrs, approached him & asked if he had change for a $20. V1 stated he didn’t & was punched in the face by another party, who he hadn’t seen, as he was talking with S1. V1 believes there were possibly 6 total suspects. When the bus pulled up, the suspects fled without taking anything from V1. V1 got on the bus & went to the hospital for medical assistance, as his left eye was swollen shut. No loss.

30th Ave N & Aldrich Ave N Saturday 3/19/11 2233 hrs 11-074592

Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress & were flagged down by V1/male, 49 yrs, who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics & was bleeding from the mouth. He said that people were after him. V1 told officers that he was on Broadway earlier & met S3/male, 50-55 yrs, & went with him to an unknown address to smoke marijuana & drink alcohol. There were 2 other males/S1 & S2, 20-21 yrs, at this address & they told V1 to get out. As V1 attempted to leave, Suspects assaulted him, punching him & kicking him several times in the face & body. One suspect took $400 from his pockets. V1 then fled. Officers drove V1 around the area to find the incident location, but V1 was unable to determine where the events occurred. V1 was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

V1/male, 35 yrs, stated he was walking in the above area when 2 unknown male suspects came up from behind him. One male had a black semi-automatic handgun & pointed it at V1, while the 2 suspects demanded money from him. V1 stated the suspects took approx. $50-$60 in cash & fled. Officer responded to a Robbery of Person call at the above location. V1/male, 20 yrs, stated that he & his cousin, V2/male, 25 yrs, were at this address, hanging out with 2 females later ID’d as OT1 & OT2, both 19 yrs. V1 stated that while they were inside, approx. 6 males came in & demanded money & cell phones from both victims. V1’s $200 Blackberry was taken, but he was able to get out of the residence & run away. OT1 & OT2 stated they invited the victims over, but when they wouldn’t leave, OT1 called S1/male, 19 yrs, to come to the house to remove them. V2 returned to the scene & told officer the same story as V1. V2 was robbed of his cell phone & $90 in cash & was also punched & kicked several times by the suspects. V1 & V2 thought they had been set up by OT1 & OT2 to be robbed. It is unknown if OT1 & OT2 set the victims up, or if they called the suspects to remove them from the house. Both victims refused medical. Suspects were GOA.

14XX Logan Ave N Thursday 3/24/11 0105 hrs 11-078436
V1/female, 23 yrs, stated she was visiting at her house with W1/male, 22-26 yrs, her ex-boyfriend. S1/female, 23 yrs, the current girlfriend of W1, knocked on the door & barged in, after W1 opened it. S1 accused W1 & V1 of having an affair & hit V1 in the forehead with a small hammer, causing a laceration above V1’s left eye. W1 removed S1 from the house at this time. V1 went to the hospital later to receive several stitches to her head.

Assault 2—w/a Dangerous Weapon
36XX Bryant Ave N Thursday 3/24/11 2040 hrs 11-079040
Officers responded to this location on a Person with a Gun call. V2/female, 31 yrs, met officers outside the address & stated that her brother, S1/male, 29 yrs, & 2 of his male friends, S2/22 yrs., & S3/20 yrs., showed up to drop off V2’s 10 yr-old nephew. S2 & S3 went into the home & chatted with V1/male, 38 yrs, & V2 for a while & left. S2 & S3 returned a short time later & kicked at the door, with S3 yelling “Come out here so we can give you some lead!” V1 & V2 looked out the window & observed S1 coming from around the corner of the house with a black automatic pistol that he pointed at the front door. S1 then kicked the door & demanded the victims come out. V2 yelled through the door that she was calling the police & suspects fled. V1 confirmed V2’s story & stated he saw the suspects leave in a red SUV. V1 said the suspects may have bad blood towards him from an incident that happened last summer. No injuries. Suspects were GOA.

Assault 2---w/a Dangerous Weapon
17th Ave N & Newton Ave N Saturday 3/26/11 0500 hrs 11-080480
Officer responded to the hospital to meet a shooting victim. Officer observed V1’s vehicle in the hospital drive with a broken driver’s side window & the engine running. Officer found a shell casing behind the driver’s seat & broken glass on the driver’s seat. Officer learned the driver drove himself to the hospital with a shoulder injury. V1 stated he met a female at a club & arranged to meet her at the above location so he could buy some Esctasy. Once there, V1 waited in his car & observed this female & a male drive up in a Dodge Intrepid. The female & male walked up to the driver’s side of V1’s vehicle & the male brandished a semi-automatic handgun. V1 saw his driver’s window shatter & he felt a burning sensation in his shoulder. The suspects ran back to their vehicle & drove off, while V1 drove himself to the hospital. V1 couldn’t explain why there was a shell casing in his car, when he stated he was shot through the driver’s window. Suspects were GOA. V1 was treated at the hospital & released

Officers responded to the above location on the report of a carjacking. V1/male, 23 yrs, stated he parked his girlfriend’s minivan in front of the front doors of SUPER USA. Unknown S1/male, 25 yrs, was at the bus stop & approached V1, asking for change. V1 stated he didn’t have any but might when he came out of the store. V1 entered the store, made a purchase, & then got into the minivan. S1 approached the driver’s side door & again asked for change. While V1 looked for change, S1 opened a passenger door & held a silver revolver, telling V1 to “Give it up.” V1 exited the vehicle & fled home to call police. S1 & V1’s 1999 Chevy Astro were GOA. No injuries.

V1/male, 15 yrs, stated he was on the sidewalk in front of the above location when he was approached by 2 unknown male suspects, 16-18 yrs. Suspects asked V1 if he had any “weed” & when he stated he didn’t, suspects struck him with closed fists & forcibly took his wallet. Suspects then fled on food. V1 refused EMS at the scene. Loss included a wallet, $20 in cash, & misc. ID. Suspects were GOA.

Officer was dispatched to a robbery of person involving a handgun at this location. V1/male, 26 yrs, stated he was at a bus stop when S2/female, his ex-girlfriend, & her cousin S1/male, pulled up in a blue Suzuki. S1exited the vehicle carrying a gun & took a bag of V1’s personal belongings. V1 stated they both got back into the vehicle & fled. Officers went to S2’s residence to speak to her about the incident. S2 stated that a white garbage bag sitting in the residence belonged to V1, but she phoned his mother in an attempt to return the belongings to him. Officers spoke to V1’s mother, who confirmed this information. S2 stated the incident he reported never happened & that V1 was trying to get her & her cousin in trouble before he gets sentenced to jail for Domestic Abuse against her. Officers checked the suspect vehicle & observed that it hadn’t left the garage in a while because a snowplow left a small snow bank outside & the bank showed no tire tracks. Also, the engine was cold. S2 stated an investigator had been in contact with her regarding a robbery that V1 alleged happened the previous week. S2 was not arrested, as most likely this is a false report.

ROBBIZ
11XX Lowry Ave N Friday 3/25/11 2000 hrs 11-080007
Officers responded to a shooting at this biz. location. V2/male, 38 yrs, the manager of the biz., was near the front of the store with a cut near his eye, which was bleeding. V2/male, 32 yrs, was lying face up with a gunshot wound on the left side of his body, which struck him first through his arm. V2 stated that unknown S1/male, 19-22 yrs, was in the store & was starting to pay for a shirt, when he said it was a robbery & pulled out a gun. S1 struck V2 in the side of his face with the gun. V1 wondered what was going on & S1approached him. At this time, V1 shoved S1, who shot at V1, striking him. S1 fled the store, leaving the money he placed on the counter to pay for the shirt. V1 was taken to the hospital via ambulance & V2 needed stitches, but stated he would transport himself to the hospital. Suspect was GOA. No loss.

Officers were dispatched to a robbery of person call & met V1/male, 31 yrs, who stated he drove to the above location to pick up a female friend. While waiting in his parked vehicle, S1/male, 24-27 yrs, walked up from behind, pointed a .38 revolver at V1 through the driver’s side window & demanded that he get out. At this time, S2/male, 24-27 yrs, came out from a yard & pressed a gun to the back of V1’s head. S1 went through V1’s pockets & took his cell phone valued at $500, & his wallet, containing $300 in cash. S1 then got into V1’s vehicle, a dark blue BMW, & drove off. V1 feels there was a 3rd suspect as well. Suspects were GOA.

Officers were dispatched to a shooting & observed V1/male, 19 yrs, lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his leg. V1 stated he exited his vehicle at the above location & 3 unknown male suspects, 17-22 yrs, ran up & robbed him of his cell phone. One of the suspects fired 1 or 2 shots, striking him in the leg & the suspects fled on foot. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance with a non-life threatening wound. Suspects were GOA.

Off duty officer responded to a report of shots fired & observed a possible suspect attempting to flee the area in a vehicle at a high rate of speed. Officer stopped the vehicle at gunpoint & as he approached, the vehicle fled. Officer observed a lone male in the driver’s seat, later ID’d as AP1/male, 26 yrs. The vehicle was relocated just 2 blocks north by responding officers. AP1 was found standing on the north side of a house, next to a firearm that was lying on top of the snow. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Fleeing & PC Weapons. AP2/ female, 26 yrs, was booked for a misdemeanor warrant.

7XX Elizabeth Lane Saturday 3/26/11 0415 hrs 11-080461
Officers responded to the above location on a suspicious vehicle. Officers located the vehicle & observed AP1/male, 32 yrs, standing outside the passenger side of the vehicle, possibly with his hands inside the window. AP1 was ordered back to the squad, but he did not initially reply. Passengers were observed moving around inside the vehicle & they were pulled out one at a time, as officers feared they may be attempting to conceal a weapon. A black revolver was seen in plain view on the floorboard of the front passenger side. AP1 & AP2/male, 34 yrs, the front seat passenger, were booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP3/male, 19 yrs, later came into the Pct & stated the gun belonged to him. AP3 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

WEAP---Carry a Weapon w/out a Permit
16XX Queen Ave N Sunday 3/27/11 1639 hrs 11-081834
Officers were dispatched to the school at this location on the report of a person with a gun. A description was given on the suspect & what he was wearing. Officers located AP1/male, 13 yrs, & found a loaded BB gun in his waist band. The gun appeared very real & resembled a black semi-automatic pistol. AP1 was processed & booked in JDC for Felony Dangerous Weapon on School Grounds.

32XX Lowry Ave N Wednesday 3/30/11 1100 hrs 11-085615

Officers responded to the hospital on the report of a stabbing victim. V1/male, 24 yrs, stated he was at a party the previous evening (3/30/11) when a fight started. V1 didn’t know why the fight started, but felt he needed to get into the altercation. During this time, V1 was “poked” in the leg. V1 stated he didn’t know who stabbed him. V1 went home that night & went to the hospital the following day. V1 was asked if he wanted to make a police report & he stated no, since he didn’t know who stabbed him. V1 was treated and released for a non-life threatening wound.



DOMESTIC STRANGULATION

21XX Irving Ave N Friday 4/1/11 1800 hrs 11-087007

Victims ex-boyfriend pushed his way into the victim’s house, once in he put his hands around her neck and applied pressure. Victim’s mother was able to get the suspect off her daughter by hitting him with a broomstick. Suspect was taken into custody.

Victim was found down with blunt force trauma to the head, he stated that he was jumped by 4. The victim still had money and his bottle of alcohol in his pocket.

Officers responded to shots fired, victim 1 was found with a gun shot wound to the wrist. Victim fled the area but later showed up at the hospital with gun shot wounds to the hand, victim 2 fled because he had warrants.

37XX 6th St N Sunday 4/3/11 0315 hrs 11-088739

Officers responded to a shooting and located a female with multiple gunshot wounds inside the residence. Witnesses inside stated that a male known to them came back after an earlier fight and began firing at the house. Officers located 20+ .223 rifle casings outside. There were multiple people inside the house during the shooting, but only one victim. Witnesses were able to provide officers with specific suspect and suspect vehicle info. Victim was transported to NMMC with 2 through-and-through gunshot wounds to the lower back, a wound to the ankle, and a graze to the arm. She was taken to surgery and officers were notified that she was stable and the wounds appeared to be NLT.

Officers responded to the listed address regarding a fight. A large group of people were observed fighting in yards and on the street. V1 called 911 to report the fight. A large group of fighters saw V1 on the phone. The group attacked V1 kicking and punching him. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and another struck V1 in the head with an unknown metal bar. V1 was treated by EMS.

Officer responded to the hospital on the report of a stabbing victim. V1/male, 32 yrs, stated he was walking in the above area when he was approached by unknown S1/male, 25-30 yrs, who asked for a light. As V1 retrieved a book of matches for S1, S1 told him to empty his pockets. V1 refused & S1 lunged at V1. V1 had been stabbed, but the wound was non-life threatening. He was taken to the hospital by a family member. S1 was GOA. No loss indicated in the report.

23XX Thomas Ave N Wednesday 3/30/11 2003 hrs 11-085022

V1/male, 36 yrs, was walking home when he became aware of 2 unknown males, 17-20 yrs, following him. He kept monitoring their location & noticed when they were very close to him. Suspects asked V1 if he had a cigarette or a cell phone they could use. When V1 said no, S1 pulled out a silver automatic handgun & put it to V1’s head, demanding his money. V1 stated at first that he didn’t have any, but fearing for his safety, pulled out $90 in cash & handed it to S1. S2 remained near & watched the area, acting as a “look out.” Suspects then fled on foot. V1 was not injured.

Officers were dispatched to a robbery of person call. V1/female, 44 yrs., was walking in the alley when 2 unknown male suspects ran up from behind & wrestled the purse off her shoulder. Suspects then fled on foot. Loss was the purse valued at $45; an uncashed check for approx. $900; ID’s/credit cards; & approx. $200 in cash. V1 did not require medical assistance.

Officer responded to North Memorial to see the victim. Victim stated that 5-6 young people jumped him and took his cash and alcohol. Victim received treatment for a fractured jaw.

Suspect 2 approached the victim and asked her for a cigarette. The victim opened her back pack and handed one to suspect 2. Suspect 1 approached the victim from behind immediately after she gave the cigarette to suspect 2. Suspect 1 pushed the barrel of a handgun to the back of her neck. Suspect 1 demanded the victims wallet from the inside of her backpack. The victim complied.

Officers were dispatched to NORTH MEMORIAL HOSPITAL on a person who was stabbed. After talking to the victim, he stated he was robbed at the above location. The victim had no life-threatening injuries. The victim was given a blue card.

Officers responded to a robbery of person at the listed address. Victim reported that an unknown male suspect ran at her as she was exiting her garage, and grabbed her purse knocking her to the ground. The unknown suspect fled the area on foot. Victim reported the listed loss inside the purse.

As officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a Traffic violation, AP1, fled on foot. AP1 was caught after a brief chase & was booked in HCJ for Fleeing an Officer on Foot. A resident in the area later called 911 to report he found a gun in his fenced dog kennel. This kennel is adjacent to the lot where AP1 had run. Police arrived & recovered the gun. AP1 was also charged with PC Weapons.

Emerson Ave N & Lowry Ave N Tuesday 3/29/11 1459 hrs 11-083649

Officers observed 3 males standing in front of a business, for approx. 10 minutes. Officers pulled up & as they began exiting the squad, AP1, began walking backwards with his hands in the air, stating he was just leaving. Officers asked the parties if they had purchased anything & AP1 fled on foot. After a short foot chase, AP1 was apprehended. AP1 dropped a gun while he fled & officers also recovered 7 grams of marijuana. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

34XX Fremont Ave N Tuesday 3/29/11 1649 yrs 11-083737

Officers were advised that 3 males & 1 female were selling narcotics in the front yard. Officers conducted surveillance & observed suspected crack/cocaine in the possession of AP1 & AP2. Officers took the 2 AP’s & 4 others into custody. A loaded semi-automatic handgun & marijuana were found on AP1’s person. Crack/cocaine was found in AP2’s possession, which tested positive. AP1 did not have a permit to carry & was booked for PC Weapons & PC Narcotics. AP2 was booked for PC Narcotics. A 3rd male was cited/released for Loitering.

34XX Humboldt Ave N Tuesday 3/29/11 2030 hrs 11-083965

Officer responded to the above location to assist Animal Control in recovering 2 dogs that bit a juvenile earlier in the day. Animal Control knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Officer looked through a window & observed S1, sitting on a bed in the basement. Animal Control then pounded on the door harder. Officer observed a dog run up the stairs & S1 crouching, shoving something under his bed. Animal Control secured this dog, but S1 denied any other dog was on the premises. Officer asked S1 if the dog was under his bed, & told S1 he observed him shove something under there. S1 claimed it was marijuana, but officer looked down & observed the handle of a firearm protruding from under the mattress. S1 was told to put his hands in the air, at which point he fled upstairs. S1 fled the residence & officer gave chase for a short while, but decided to return to the house for the safety of the Animal Control officer. A 2nd dog was not located. The gun was recovered, along with S1’s wallet & cell phone.

James Ave N & Plymouth Ave N Tuesday 3/29/11 2321 hrs 11-084139

Officers observed AP1, spit on the sidewalk at the above location. Officers stopped AP1 & asked if he had any weapons on him. AP1 told officers he had a BB gun in his pocket. Officers retrieved the BB gun & AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP1 also had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.

29XX Dupont Ave N Wednesday 3/30/11 1829 hrs 11-084896

Officers responded to a complaint of 6 males possibly selling narcotics at the above location. As officers approached the location in marked squads, 2 males turned & walked in the opposite direction. Officers stopped both parties & AP1, spontaneously said “Man you gotta get this thing out of my waist.” Officers recovered a 9MM Glock gun with a loaded magazine in AP1’s waistband. AP1 does not have a permit to carry & was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

The Victim got a ride from the Suspect. The Suspect told the Victim that he wanted to have sex with her. The Victim told the Suspect that she did not want to. The Suspect grabbed the Victim by her outer clothing, but the Victim was able to fight him off and get away. The Victim was uninjured.

Victim was found in the intersection crying stating that 3 men took her into a basement nearby and commit sexual acts. Victim met the men through a mutual friend, she was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Fire responded to above regarding a vacant house that had the door open with very high levels of gas. Officers did traffic control, a few homes were evacuated until the utility companies cut everything off.

S1/male, age unknown, is the ex-boyfriend of V1’s live-in girlfriend, V2/female, age not listed. There has been an ongoing argument between V1 & S1, & S1 stated he was going to “burn them out.” S1 broke out basement windows by the laundry room the previous week. When the fire started, V1 observed mattresses on fire directly underneath the broken window. Some type of flaming item had been thrown in, as the electrical outlet was not responsible. No injuries. The cause of the fire was determined to be Arson & the estimated damage is $600. Suspect was GOA.





ASSAULT:

ASLT2---w/a Dangerous Weapon (Attempt)

51st Ave N & 6th St N Tuesday 4/5/11 1020 hrs 11-090891

Officer responded to the above area on the report of shots fired. Officer met V2/female, 30 yrs, who was extremely hysterical, explaining that her boyfriend, V1/30 yrs, was shot at & is now missing. V2 told officers she & V1 were standing at the above corner when a blue VW pulled up at a high rate of speed & later returned with a burgundy Caprice. Known S1/male, 21-23 yrs, exited the Caprice, pulled out a semi-automatic, & aimed it at V1. Known S2/male, 18 yrs, jumped out of the VW & got into the face of V2, causing a scratch under her right eye. V2 fled & while running, observed S1 fire 6-8 rounds at V1 as he fled to the park. S2 also ran towards the park, firing approx. 4 rounds from a small handgun. Officers located V1 at his residence, uninjured. Officers located 7 spent .40 caliber casings at the above intersection. V2 called the 4th Pct & said that V1’s boot had a possible bullet in it. Suspects were GOA.



ASLT3—Significant Bodily Harm

14XX Plymouth Ave N Tuesday 4/5/11 2000 hrs 11-091720

Officers responded to Regions Hospital in St. Paul in reference to an assault that reportedly occurred in front of 1314 Irving Ave N. V1/male, 29 yrs, was unconscious & unable to speak. OT1/male, 18 yrs, claimed that V1 sustained injuries from an earlier incident, but that he was also attacked by 5 male “crackheads” who attempted to pull V1 out of his vehicle. OT1’s story contradicted other information received by officers. W1/male, 25 yrs, is a security guard for 1414 Plymouth N & told officers there was fresh blood on the 3rd floor of the bldg. Residents there heard a fight in the hallway, but did not open their doors. Suspects were GOA. V1 suffered facial injuries, a broken nose, & broken bones surrounding his right eye.



ASLT2 ----w/a Dangerous Weapon

21XX 30th Ave N Wednesday 4/6/11 2005 hrs 11-092505

Officers were dispatched to investigate shot spotter activation, & learned there were shots fired at a group of juveniles in the yard at this location. V1/female, 50 yrs, who lives at this residence, stated 2 bullets came through her upstairs unit. V1 didn’t know who the shooters were, but they were firing at a group of juveniles gathered outside her front door. The juvenile targets left the scene prior to officers’ arrival, but some told V1 there were 3 juvenile suspects involved, known by the juvenile targets. V1 believes the 2 groups are having an ongoing dispute over girls at their school. No injuries. Suspects were GOA. Officers photographed the bullet holes in V1’s apt.

29th Ave N & 4th St. N Friday 4/8/11 2151 hrs 11-095158

Officer responded to an assault at this location. V1/male, 16 yrs, stated that approx. 4 days prior, he & 3 other males got off the bus at 29th & Dupont N where they observed a large group of Asian males. V1, who is black, stated he made a statement to the effect that he did not like Asians, so all parties fought for approx. 10-20 minutes. On this date (4/8/11), V1 & OT1/male, 15 yrs, were playing basketball in Fairview Park when he observed a group of 4 Asian males walking towards them. V1 said one of the males had a semi-automatic handgun & fired 2 shots at him. V1 stated he fled on foot & made it back to the residence where he is staying. V1 could not provide descriptions of the suspects. No injuries.

18XX Penn Ave N Friday 4/8/11 2323 hrs 11-095175

Officer was on duty in an unmarked vehicle doing surveillance in the area of Golden Valley Rd to Upton. Officer observed a vehicle with a cracked tail-light that kept using alleys as thorough fares. Officers followed this vehicle & observed it stop in an alley near 18XX Queen N where the driver spoke with a group of males gathered there. After the vehicle sped off, one of the males in the group approached the unmarked squad with a silver handgun, which he pointed at officers. Officer exited the vehicle to engage AP1/male, 18 yrs, who was holding the gun, but a garbage can was in the way & AP1 was gone. Officers set up a perimeter & AP1 was apprehended by a marked squad. Officers positively ID’d him as the party with the gun. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Assault 2. No injuries.



ASLT2—w/a Dangerous Weapon / Criminal Vehicular Injury / DWI / HRWI / DAR

16XX Washington Ave N Saturday 4/9/11 0145 hrs 11-095322

Officers were dispatched on the report of an injury accident. Information stated a vehicle deliberately rammed another vehicle & fled the scene. V1/female, 30 yrs, told officers it was a female driving the vehicle that deliberately rammed into her vehicle, causing an injury to her left arm. Witnesses confirmed this info & stated there were 2 male passengers in the suspect vehicle. EMS arrived & transported V1 to the hospital for treatment. Assisting officers located the suspect vehicle & a female passenger admitted being at the scene & in a fight, but denied driving. The female, AP1/29 yrs, 8/12/81, was taken to Chemical Testing & was then booked in HCJ for Assault 2, since she used her car as a weapon. AP2/male, 29 yrs, was cited & released for DAR.

Officers responded to a shots fired call in this area. V1/female, female, 39 yrs, stated 3 vehicles drove up to her vehicle, which was parked in the back of her residence. Several males & females exited the vehicles & started screaming “Shoot up her house.” S1/female, 22 yrs, took a golf club & shattered V1’s car window. V1 ran inside to call police. V2/male, 32 yrs, was on the back porch & was approached by S3/male, 15-20 yrs, who ran at him with a handgun & V2 heard approx. 5 shots coming from the area of S3. V2 fled on foot from S3. W1/female, 21 yrs, who is the daughter of V1, observed several males & females run from the back of her mother’s house while she was on the front porch. V1 recognized S1 & her sister, S2, as they approached her neighbor’s car (V3/female, 36 yrs). They broke the windshield & car windows & tried to break V1’s house window with a brick. W1 stated S1 has been making threats to her because she believes W1 is spending time with her baby’s father. This has been an ongoing feud. Officers recovered several spent shell casings. While speaking with V1, S1 phoned & threatened V1 stating it wasn’t over & that she was going to return & shoot up her house. No injuries.

Officers responded to a shooting at the above location. Officers located V1/male, 15 yrs, who was sitting in a single family home with a gunshot wound to his inner thigh. This wound did not have an exit site. V1 was calm as he spoke to officers & reported he was walking home when he observed unknown S1/male, rob a lady at the entrance of the alley, Queen-Penn on 33rd Ave N. V1 stated S1 then turned & shot at him, striking him in the leg. V1 said he ran home & called 911. V1 stated he wouldn’t be able to ID S1. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance, with a non-life threatening wound.

Officers were dispatched to a person with a gun call. V1/female, 25 yrs, flagged officers down & said the person with the gun ran into the above address. Officers were unable to find anyone. V1 stated that known S1/male, 21 yrs, took W1’s cell phone & V1 came over to help W1 get it back. S1 pulled out a silver handgun & aimed it at V1. S1 ran when police were called & fled into the above address, but was not located there. No injuries.

Officers responded to the above location regarding an assault. V1/male, 41 yrs, had blood all over his shirt & face & had a cut on his lower lip. V1 stated he was knocked to the ground & thinks he lost consciousness for a few seconds. V1 only remembers 6-8 males running away. V1 is missing a briefcase containing approx. 100 music CD’s. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. Suspects were GOA.

37XX Morgan Ave N Saturday 4/9/11 2233 hrs 11-096254

Officers responded to a robbery of person call at the above location. V1/male, 23 yrs, stated he & his cousin were walking home from a friend’s, when they were approached in the alley by 2 male suspects, unknown ages. S1 punched V1 in the head, knocking him to the ground & then both suspects kicked him. One of the suspects took V1’s i-phone & $45 in cash, as well as his car keys. OT1/male, was also punched & knocked to the ground. One of the suspects told V1 to get up & then threw his car key at him, hitting him in the head. Suspects fled. V1 refused medical attention & OT1 would not talk with officers. Suspects were GOA.

Officers responded to a robbery & met V1/male, 21 yrs, who stated he was walking on the street when he was approached from behind by 3 unknown male suspects (ages unknown). One of the suspects pushed V1 to the ground then took his wallet. Suspects fled on foot. V1 refused medical attention. There was no indication of the amount of money (if any) in V1’s wallet. No further info at this time.

Officers conducted a building check at the above location, as this address has an ongoing problem with disturbances, narcotics activity, loitering, etc… Officers entered & observed a male, AP1/24 yrs, with a large bulge inside his pants pocket. AP1 was told to stop, but he continued to walk backwards to an apt. AP1 was eventually apprehended & officers recovered a .380 semi-automatic handgun from his pocket. AP1 does not live at this address, but was visiting his girlfriend. AP1 was under the influence & was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP2/male, 30 yrs, was booked for trespassing & AP3/male, 27 yrs, was tagged & released for a small amt. of marijuana.

Fremont ave N & Plymouth Ave N Thursday 4/7/11 1339 hrs 11-093339

Officer was contacted by a CRI in regards to a person with a gun. The CRI described AP1/male, 27 yrs, & told officers he got into a vehicle & left the area. Officers stopped the vehicle at the above location & observed AP1, the passenger, making movements around his waist area & the center console. AP1 & S1/male, 23 yrs, the driver, were removed from the vehicle. Officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun under the center console. AP1 was arrested & booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. S1 was interviewed & released.

The origin of the fire was determined to be the rear passenger seat & the cause of the fire was incendiary. The entire vehicle was damaged. No ignitable liquid containers or devices were discovered. Estimated damage is $5000. No witnesses or suspects at this time.

MFD responded to a vehicle fire at this location. The vehicle, a black, 4-door Chevy Avalanche, was completely destroyed by fire. The vehicle had not been reported stolen & there was no driver, nor witnesses, or suspect(s) on the scene. The origin of the fire was the passenger area. No ignitable liquid containers or devices were located. The fire consumed all the combustibles…the seats were burned down to their metal frames…the dashboard melted, as did the steering wheel. The cause of the fire was incendiary. Estimated damage is $12,000.

MFD responded to the rear of above location to take a Molotov cocktail into evidence. The homeowner/victim, male, 29 yrs, stated he has no problems with anyone & had no idea who would put the item in his backyard. The fire bomb was a Corona beer bottle with a clear liquid inside that smelled of charcoal lighter fluid. There was a white wash cloth stuffed into the neck of it. It did not appear to have been ignited in any way. No suspects or witnesses.

Officers met V1/male, 24 yrs, who had been assaulted by known S1/male, 28 yrs, who is the ex-boyfriend of V1’s stepsister. V1 was standing near the alley with his father, W1/male, 43 yrs, when S1 drove up & started to fight with the men. V1 got back into his vehicle & hit V1with his car, knocking him to the ground. V1 had road rash on one side of his body & was transported to the hospital via ambulance. S1 punched V1, threatening him. W1 stated the fight was over V1 owing S1 $10 & some tools. Suspect was GOA.

Officers spoke with V1/male, 54 yrs, who had been stabbed in his upper arm, by known S1/female, 40-50 yrs, a friend of his niece. V1 stated that AP1/ female, 34 yrs, his niece, & her friend, S1, entered his residence intoxicated & loud. When V1 told them to keep it down, S1 stabbed V1 in the arm with a knife then fled the residence. AP1 & S1 have been staying with V1. AP1 called another friend to pick up S1, before she checked on her uncle. AP1 was found to have 2 warrants & was booked in HCJ. S1 was GOA. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance for a non-life threatening wound.

Officers responded to the hospital on the report of a Stabbing. V1/male, 20 yrs, told officers he was stabbed at his home, but refused to tell them anything about the incident. V1 was stabbed on his right forearm. Wound was non-life threatening. No further info at this time.

13XX Irving Ave N Thursday 4/14/11 0100 hrs 11-100926
Officers responded to an assault & located V1/male, 34 yrs, on the kitchen floor with a severe laceration to his head. V1 was semi-unconscious & could not initially respond to officers. Apparently V1 was struck in the head with a glass bottle, as there were several pieces of broken glass from a liquor bottle near V1. Others at the address stated there had earlier been a party, but they did not see who struck V1, as they went upstairs. Ambulance arrived & took V1 to the hospital. At that time, V1 was awake & stated a female struck him, but the name he gave was unclear, with no last name.

V1/male, 42 yrs, walked to his car in the parking lot of the listed location, when he was approached by 2 parties in a vehicle. V1 stated the driver, OT1/female, 23 yrs, was an ex-girlfriend he has had ongoing domestic issues with. Unknown S1/male, 23-27 yrs, was the front seat passenger & produced a small semi-automatic pistol. S1 pointed the gun at V1 & stated he (V1) was “messing with the wrong guy.” V1 felt threatened & left the scene to call 911. No injuries. Suspect & OT1 were GOA.

Officers responded to a person with a gun call. The caller stated that V1/14 yrs, male, came into the store & told him he was threatened with a gun. The caller did not see the suspects, but V1 told officers he was in a physical fight earlier & now the group returned in a vehicle. There were approx. 5-6 males in the car & one of the parties pointed at handgun out the window at V1. No injuries. No shots fired. Suspects were not located.

ASLT2---w/a Dangerous Weapon / Damage to Motor Vehicle
32XX Lyndale Ave N Monday 4/18/11 1826 hrs 11-105770
Officers responded to a personal injury accident & met V1/male, 62 yrs, & V2/female, 27 yrs, his daughter. Victims stated they were assaulted by known AP1/male, 32 yrs, & AP2/male, 32 yrs. V1 picked up V2 in his vehicle & AP1 approached, produced a handgun, & pointed at V1’s head. AP1 told V1 he was going to die. AP1 then punched V1 in the head & also punched V1’s windshield, breaking same. V2 attempted to pull AP1 away from her father, V1. AP2 picked AP1 up in a vehicle in order to escape. AP2’s vehicle struck V2, knocking her down in the street, causing minor injuries. AP1 & AP2 were apprehended & booked for PC Assault & Damage to Motor Vehicle.

Officers met V1/male, 43 yrs, who stated he had just been robbed in the alley at the above location. V1 had been at the Super America & noticed the 5 unknown male suspects, 15-25 yrs. These parties followed V1 outside the store & when he reached the alley, he was shoved down by one of the suspects. V1 curled up in a ball to protect himself. Suspects demanded V1’s cell phone, which he threw at the suspects. Suspects went through his pockets, but did not locate $200 he had in cash. One suspect put a small revolver to V1’s ribs & demanded anything else he had & when V1 stated he didn’t have anything else, suspects fled. The cell phone was the only loss.

Officers were dispatched to this location on unknown trouble. V1/female, 62 yrs, stated she was robbed in the rear of her address at gunpoint. A male dressed as a female approached her & told her someone was trying to kill him. While V1 was on the line with 911, a group of juvenile males approached her & one of the males swatted the phone out of her hand. V1 tried to pick her phone up & S1 pointed a small black revolver at V1. S1 grabbed the cell phone off the ground & all the suspects fled. V1 flagged officers down to report the incident. No injuries. Suspects were GOA. The cell phone is valued at $300.

V1/male,44 yrs, & V2/male, 53 yrs, were on duty at the Food Market at this location when 3 unknown male suspects, 18-20 yrs, entered the store wearing masks & all black clothing, carrying semi-automatic handguns, entered & robbed the store. Loss is $100 in cash & 3 cartons of cigars. No injuries.

Officers were conducting narcotics surveillance in the above area. Officers were told that 2 drug sellers got into a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped & the backseat passenger admitted he had marijuana on his person. Another backseat passenger was removed & suspected narcotics were found on him as well. The driver did not have a valid DL & was cited & released. Officer saw another rear passenger slide down as if he was trying to hide something. A loaded handgun was located under the front passenger seat. Both the front seat passenger & rear seat passenger had access to the weapon & neither had a permit to carry, so both were booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. Another party was booked in HCJ for a Warrant & for loitering.

Officers were dispatched to the above location on a disturbance call. The caller stated that a large group of males & females were in the foyer drinking & smoking. The address is an apt. bldg. with several common hallways & has been a problem with a history of narcotics issues & gun related incidents. Officers made contact with 2 males in the front of the apt. bldg. AP1/male, 30 yrs, had his hand in an outer sweatshirt pocket & was ordered to show officers his hands. AP1 failed to comply with the command & officers eventually apprehended him while a small handgun appeared at his right ankle & jeans. AP1 is a convicted felon & was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP2/male, 31 yrs, was booked in HCJ for Trespassing & AP3/female, 44 yrs, was booked for Obstructing Legal Process.

Officer attempted to stop 4 juvenile males for Truancy at the above location. When officer told the males to come over to the squad, they all took off running. Officer was able to catch AP1/16 yrs, about a block away. He was placed in the rear of the squad & officer returned to find AP2/15 yrs, hiding beside a garage next to a Daycare. This party saw officer & ran, but was apprehended. Officer located a black semi-automatic CO2 pellet gun in the spot where AP2 was hiding. AP2 was booked in JDC for PC Weapons; Fleeing on Foot; & Truancy. AP1 was tagged for Fleeing on Foot & Truancy. Others were not located.

Officers were conducting surveillance in this area when they observed AP3/male, 25 yrs, approach a vehicle & purchase narcotics from the occupants. When the vehicle left the parking lot, officers conducted a stop & could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. The occupants were removed from the vehicle & officers located marijuana & a loaded firearm inside. Neither of the occupants had permits to carry & conceal a firearm. AP1/male, 21 yrs, & AP2/ male, 25 yrs, were booked for PC Weapons. AP3 was cited & released for Loitering.

24th Ave N & Aldrich Ave N Friday 4/15/11 1204 hrs 11-102377
Officers observed the driver of a vehicle, AP1/male, 30 yrs, not wearing a seatbelt. As the squad passed, AP1 put his seatbelt on. Officers made a u-turn & caught up to AP1’s vehicle, but as officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, AP1 sped off. AP1 crashed his vehicle & fled on foot. AP1 was observed carrying a handgun as he fled. AP1 was apprehended & the handgun was located behind 24XX Bryant Ave N. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons & PC Fleeing.

Officers responded to this location on shots fired & observed several males running from the scene. Officer chased AP1/male, 15 yrs, & saw him attempt to hide something as officer approached. AP1 was apprehended & a handgun was recovered near him. AP1 was ID’d in a “show-up” as the shooter & was booked in JDC. No injuries.

19XX Willow Ave Monday 4/18/11 1728 hrs 11-105703
While on patrol, officers initiated a traffic stop after seeing a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. Officers activated their lights & air horn, but the vehicle would not stop & accelerated more than once to avoid the squad. At the above address, AP1/male, 29 yrs, the front seat passenger, exited the vehicle & fled on foot. Officers noted an object in his hand as they gave chase. When AP1 fell to the ground, officers saw a semi-automatic handgun in his hand. AP1 fell again & tossed the gun as he fell. AP1 was apprehended & booked in HCJ for PC Weapons & PC R & C. AP2/male, 40 yrs, the vehicle driver, was booked in HCJ for PC Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle.

22XX Dupont Ave N Wednesday 4/20/11 2238 hrs 11-108300

MFD responded to a trailer on fire at this location. The trailer was parked detached from any vehicle & loaded to the top with trash, consisting mostly of electronic items; plastic cases; TV’s, etc… The cause of the fire is incendiary. The fire did not spread to any buildings. There was no odor of gasoline in the trailer & no suspects. Estimated damage is $500.



ARSON (Attempt)

35XX Emerson Ave N Thursday 4/21/11 1419 hrs 11-108875

MFD responded to the above location to retrieve a Molotov cocktail. V1/female, told MPFD that her son found the cocktail on top of the walk-out garage. This was the 2nd cocktail found in that location in as many days. V1 stated she does not know why anyone would do this. The cocktail was a beer bottle with a rag stuffed in the top & lighter fluid inside the bottle. No suspects. No injuries.





ASSAULT:

ASLT2---w/a Dangerous Weapon

9XX Broadway Ave W Tuesday 4/19/11 2300 hrs 11-107206

V1/male, 52 yrs, stated that unknown S1/male, 18-20 yrs, tried to run over him after the 2 exchanged words. V1 & his son, AP1/male, 32 yrs, had been drinking & were walking through the alley at the above location when S1 approached them & began yelling at them. S1 got into a vehicle & drove toward V1, attempting to run him over. S1 then struck a parked vehicle & fled on foot. Officers were able to locate V2/female, 55 yrs, whose vehicle had been damaged by S1. S1 could not be located & the vehicle he used did not list to him. No injuries. It was determined that AP1 had a GM Warrant & he was booked in HCJ.



ASLT3---Significant Bodily Harm

22XX Broadway Ave W. Friday 4/22/11 1520 hrs 11-110119

AP1/female, 36 yrs, attempted to steal a bottle of Vodka from the biz. at the above location. AP1 fought with an employee, V1/male, 29 yrs, in an attempt to get away before police arrived. During this time, AP1 bit V1 on the arm, breaking the skin. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Assault 3.



ASLT3---Significant Bodily Harm

44th Ave N & Fremont Ave N Friday 4/22/11 2200 hrs 11-110446

Officers were dispatched to an assault report. V1/male, 53 yrs, stated he was waiting for the bus when unknown S1 came up from behind & punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. S1 fled & V1 could give no suspect description. V1 sustained a deep cut to his lip & was transported to the hospital by officers. V1 advised that S1 did not speak to him or attempt to steal anything from him. No witnesses.

16XX Oliver Ave N Saturday 4/23/11 0244 hrs 11-110792

V1/male, 49 yrs, stated that S1/male, 37 yrs, a friend of his, hit him with a glass beer bottle. V1 stated S1 yelled at him over an incident that occurred earlier, & hit V1 in the forehead with the bottle. EMS arrived & stated V1 needed stitches. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. S1 was GOA.



ASLT2---w/a Dangerous Weapon

36th Ave N & Penn Ave N Saturday 4/23/11 2115 hrs 11-111561

Squads responded to this location on a bus that was shot at while driving in the above area. Possible suspects were following the bus in a car. Suspects were GOA. Two glass panes were spidered on the MTC bus. The driver heard 2 loud noises & saw passengers lying on the floor. No injuries.



ASLT2---w/a Dangerous Weapon

46th Ave N & Dupont Ave N Sunday 4/24/11 1205 hrs 11-112233

V1/male, 50 yrs, stated that an acquaintance, S1/male, 39 yrs, has been harassing him & his girlfriend over the past few weeks. On this date, V1 observed S1 sitting in a vehicle & V1 rode his bicycle up to the vehicle & told S1 to stay away from him & his girlfriend. S1 drove off & came back around the block, attempting to strike V1 with his vehicle. V1 was not hurt, but his bicycle was hit/damaged by S1’s car. Suspect was not located.

26th Ave N & Irving Ave N Tuesday 4/19/11 2238 hrs 11-107189

V1/male, 22 yrs, was approached from behind by 3 unknown males. AP1/male, 19 yrs, hit V1 over the head several times, knocking him to the ground & demanding everything he had. The other 2 males went through V1’s pockets, removing his wallet, cell phone, & i-Pod. Suspects then fled on foot. Assisting squads were able to apprehend 4 parties, including one juvenile. V1 was taken to the location of AP1 where he positively ID’d him. AP1 & 2 other adults were booked in HCJ for PC Robbery. The juvenile was booked in the Juvenile Detention Center.

6XX Broadway Ave W Tuesday 4/19/11 2310 hrs 11-107213

Officers were conducting plain clothes surveillance when they observed AP1/male, 23 yrs, AP2/male, 19 yrs, & AP3/male, 14 yrs, approach V1/female, 41 yrs, as she was standing outside the above location. V1 stumbled backwards & the 3 AP’s fled, so officers believed they assaulted or robbed V1. Suspect descriptions were aired & assisting squads apprehended the AP’s who robbed V1 of $10. V1 was transported to the AP’s location & was able to positively ID them during a “show up.” AP1 & AP2 were booked in HCJ for PC Robbery. AP3 was booked in the Juvenile Unit. V1 was not injured.

27th Ave N & Fremont Ave N Wednesday 4/20/11 2257 hrs 11-108268

Officers responded to a robbery at gunpoint. V1/male, 22 yrs, was giving W1/female, 18 yrs, a ride to the above area. When V1’s vehicle was stopped at a red light, known S1/male, 22—25 yrs, approached the vehicle & produced a semi-automatic handgun, demanding V1’s wallet & cell phone. S1 then fled on foot. No injuries. V1’s cash loss is $150. W1 stated she knows who S1 is. It should be noted that due to her lack of fear & emotion, officers suspect that W1 set V1 up to be robbed.

27XX Russell Ave N Friday 4/22/11 0310 hrs 11-109651

Officers responded to a robbery of person call & spoke with V1/male, 21 yrs, who stated he parked his mother’s vehicle in front of the above location. As V1 & his brother, V2, walked toward the residence, 2 unknown males, 16-22 yrs, approached them on foot. V1 stated he looked back & saw V2 on the ground, as the 2 males were robbing him of the vehicle keys. V1 ran towards his brother & S1 pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun. S1 hit V1 with the gun. V1 did not hear the suspect demand anything or speak. Along with the vehicle keys, V2’s cell phone was taken before the suspects fled on foot. No injuries. It should be noted that V2 was very uncooperative & told others to not speak with police.

V1/male, 24 yrs, was at the above location looking at a vehicle he was interested in. Known S1/male, 48 yrs, approached from behind, punching V1 & knocking him to the ground. Known S2/male, 48 yrs, also hit V1 & both parties demanded money from V1. S1 pulled out a gun & hit V1 in the face. V1 told suspects his money (they knew he had) was inside the house & as he stood up, he yelled for help. S1 & S2 got back into the vehicle, which contained a 3rd unknown suspect, & drove off. V1 knows the suspects through a roommate he recently evicted. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance for his injuries. No loss. Suspects were GOA.

Girard Ave N & Golden Valley Rd Saturday 4/23/11 0150 hrs 11-110756

V1/male, 54 yrs, walked into the 4th Pct to report he had been robbed at gunpoint while at the bus stop at the above location. V1 was hit in the face 3 times & was transported by EMS to the hospital. 2 Unknown male suspects, 18-25 yrs, took V1’s cell phone; wallet; a pre-paid credit card; SS card; & approx. $80 in cash. Suspects were not located.

26XX Emerson Ave N Saturday 4/23/11 1000 hrs 11-111008

V1/male, 18 yrs, stated he was outside the store at this location when unknown S1/male, 19-25 yrs, robbed him of $40 in cash & his cell phone. S1 noticed V1 earlier in the store & asked V1 if he had any “green” on him (referring to marijuana). V1 stated he did not smoke. Outside the store, S1 followed V1, again asking about “green” & then pulled out a silver revolver & pointed it in V1’s face, demanding everything he had. S1 then fled on foot. No injuries.

29th Ave N & Humboldt Ave N Sunday 4/24/11 2115 hrs 11-112572

V1/male, 33 yrs, & V2/female, 25 yrs, were at the above intersection when 3 unknown males, 16-18 yrs, ran up to them & demanded that they empty their pockets. S1 had a black “snub nose” revolver in his hand. V2 gave up her purse which contained her MN ID card, EBT card, & $5 in cash. V1 did not have anything for the suspects to take & believes that S2 also had a gun. Suspects all fled on foot. No injuries.

V1/male, 37 yrs, stated he was walking down the street when unknown S1/male, 20—25 yrs, approached & asked V1 if he had a “square.” V1 stated he did not smoke & S1 pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun, demanding everything V1 had. V1 gave S1 his wallet which contained ID, credit cards, & misc other cards. S1 fled on foot. V1 was not injured.

36th Ave N & Aldrich Ave N Sunday 4/24/11 2210 hrs 11-112600

V1/female, 20 yrs, was walking down the street when a vehicle pulled up & several females got out & approached her. V1 stated that one of the females began to punch & kick her for no reason. One of these parties took V1’s cell phone out of her hand. V1 followed them from the scene & was able to identify a house they entered. After confrontations from AP2/ female, 19 yrs, officers were able to apprehend AP1/female, 14 yrs, & AP2 & book them for PC Robbery. V1’s cell phone was not located. V1 did not require medical attention.

27th Ave N & Humboldt Ave N Sunday 4/24/11 2325 hrs 11-112698

V1/male, 26 yrs, had been drinking & told officers he & his friend, V2/male, 27 yrs, were set up in a robbery. V1 stated he met 3 females downtown who later gave V2 & himself some rides & they ended up in the above area. Once there, the females fled & unknown S1/male, 25-30 yrs, approached with a handgun & demanded V1’s belongings. V1 was robbed of credit cards; ID; & $25 in cash. V2 was approached by unknown S2/male, approx. 25 yrs, who struck him in the back of his head. V2 fell to the ground after being hit & was robbed of credit cards; a cell phone; ID; & $80 in cash. Suspects then fled. Victims were transported to the Uptown area by officers, at their request.



ROBPER / 5th Degree Domestic Assault

30XX Logan Ave N Monday 4/25/11 2030 hrs 11-113578

V1/male, 44 yrs, is the father of S1/male, 25 yrs. V1 was at home when S1 came over to the house & wanted money from V1. V1 refused to give S1 money, so S1 attacked V1, punching him in the face, chest, & shoulders until V1 fell to the ground. S1 kicked V1 several times & removed $475 from V1’s pants pocket & fled. V1 had obvious injuries, but refused medical assistance. Police strongly urged V1 to go to the hospital. Suspect was GOA.

21XX Sheridan Ave N Sunday 4/24/11 0220 hrs 11-111974

Officers responded to the above location on a disturbance. A house on the block is a problem house with previous “gunplay” that’s occurred at the address. AP1/male, 30 yrs, ran from officers, while holding his waistband. AP1 was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. A handgun was recovered in the area where he ran. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP2/male, 26 yrs, was booked in HCJ for a Misd. Warrant.

36th Ave N & Bryant Ave N Sunday 4/24/11 2007 hrs 11-112510

Officers responded to the above location on the report of shots fired. Officers heard shots fired as they approached & observed AP1/male, 22 yrs, shooting a handgun. AP1 then ran through the yards & a perimeter was set up. K9 tracked AP1 & flushed him out. A handgun was found in a yard where witnesses observed AP1 running. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. No injuries.

33rd Ave N & Emerson Ave N Monday 4/25/11 1723 hrs 11-113350

Officers observed a vehicle using an alley as a through street & pulled in behind it. Officers noted a large crack in the windshield of this vehicle as well. Officers initiated a traffic stop & could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers saw an open liquor bottle on the floor, as well as a prescription bottle with the label removed…both in plain view. The occupants were removed from the car. While checking the vehicle, officers located a handgun underneath the driver’s seat. Neither occupant had a permit to carry. The handgun was a fully loaded 9mm. AP1/male, 18 yrs, & AP2/male, 18 yrs, were booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

Officers were dispatched to the hospital in reference to an assault. V1/male, 65 yrs, was receiving treatment (stitches) on his shin. V1 also had a large lump on his thigh. V1 told officers that known S1/male, 20-30 yrs, was in his backyard. V1 went out to speak to him & S1 left. S1 is a friend of V1’s nephew. Earlier, V1got into an argument with his nephew & told him (his nephew) to leave. V1’s nephew threatened to hurt V1 & V1 believes he sent S1 over to do this. S1 struck V1 with a baseball bat, causing his injuries. S1 was not located.

The School Resource Officer was contacted by Mpls Public Schools Transportation Director regarding an assault with a “knife” that occurred on a school bus. S1/male, 8 yrs, was referred to CHIPS due to his age, for Assault 2. V1/male, 11 yrs, had no injuries. It should be noted that the “knife” turned out to be a screwdriver.

ASLT4—Police/Emergency Personnel / FLEEING / DWI
35XX Humboldt Ave N Friday 4/29/11 0055 hrs 11-116958
Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed & activated the squad light bar to signal it to stop. The vehicle accelerated as officers activated the siren to signal it to stop. After fleeing at a high rate of speed, the vehicle eventually came to an abrupt stop & AP1/male, 51 yrs, fled on foot. AP1 was apprehended & while resisting arrest, AP1 intentionally poked PV1 in the right eye during the struggle. It was apparent that AP1 was under the influence of alcohol due to a strong odor of same, & his slurred speech. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Fleeing, PC Assault 4; & refusing DWI chemical testing.

10XX James Ave N Friday 4/29/11 2318 hrs 11-118154
Officers responded to the above location on “unknown trouble” & met V1/female, 32 yrs, who was holding her head & screaming for help. V1 pointed to AP1/male, 35 yrs, who was reaching for something under a mattress. Fearing it was a weapon, officers attempted to take AP1 into custody & he fought. One officer was punched near his eye, which required 3 stitches & another officer received a black eye. Both officers were bit by AP1, causing skin to break. Officers learned that a Domestic Assault occurred & that AP1 interfered with V1 making a 911 call. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Aslt 4 & 911 Interference.

ASLT1---Great Bodily Harm
16XX Washington Ave N Saturday 4/30/11 0146 hrs 11-118339
Officers responded to the above location, Old Colony Gas Station, on a double shooting. V1/male, 26 yrs, was located lying on the ground. Officers received a vague description of the suspect & located AP1/male, 22 yrs. AP1 was positively ID’d by a witness during a “show-up.” Witnesses stated AP1 got into a verbal argument with the victims prior to the shooting. V1 was transported to the hospital in serious condition. V2/male, 23 yrs, was shot & suffered a minor injury, but was also assaulted by bodily force & was transported to the hospital. AP1 was booked in HCJ for Aslt1.

ASLT2---w/a Dangerous Weapon / Possess Stolen Firearm / Recovered Gun / Discharge Weapon
18XX Fremont Ave N Saturday 4/30/11 1615 hrs 11-118809
V1/female, 25 yrs, & her friend, V2/female, 22 yrs, were walking down the street when 2 males yelled at them from inside the above location (an apartment building). The men wanted the females to come inside, but the victims continued walking down the street. AP1/male, 22 yrs, ran out of the building, pointed a gun at the victims, & fired twice. Victims were not hit & ran to call police. Officers went into the suspect address & located AP1 & S1/male, 22 yrs. During a “show-up”, both victims ID’d AP1 as the person who shot the gun. Officers located a stolen handgun & some ammo. AP1 was booked in HCJ for Aslt2. No injuries.

ASLT2---w/a Dangerous Weapon / Discharge Weapon
21XX Broadway Ave W Sunday 5/1/11 0154 hrs 11-119529
Officers were dispatched to shots fired in the above area. Officers met V1/male, 15 yrs; V2/male, 17 yrs; V3/female, 18 yrs; & V4/female, 24 yrs, who stated they were walking down the alley when a dark colored Tahoe pulled up behind them & stopped. Unknown S1/male, 20-21 yrs, who had a bandana over the lower part of his face, got out of the vehicle & demanded that all 4 victims stop as he pointed a gun at them. The victims ran & S1 fired multiple shots at the victims, but did not hit anyone. Victims stated there were 3 other suspects inside the vehicle. Officers located the suspect vehicle behind the above address & ordered it towed to the Mpls Impound Lot & held. Suspects were not located.

18XX Lowry Ave N Tuesday 4/26/11 1335 hrs 11-114312
V1/male, 25 yrs, stated that he & his mother, V2/46 yrs, just finished shopping when 5 unknown males wearing hoodies approached them in the parking lot. One of the males punched V1 in the face, which caused V1 to stumble, but not fall. Suspects then went over to V2 & attempted to take her purse from her. V1 ran towards the suspects, but they dragged V2 by her purse. The suspects were able to get the purse away from V2 & they fled. V1 gave chase & observed the suspects get into a red Chevy Caprice. Loss included $2000 in cash; ID; house & vehicle keys; a passport; & cell phone. Both victims refused all medical services. Suspects were GOA.

43rd Ave N & Oliver Ave N Wednesday 4/27/11 1529 hrs 11-115191
Officers responded to a robbery of person & met V1/male, 17 yrs, who stated he just sold a vehicle a day before & had $2200 in cash in his wallet. V1 said he got off the school bus with V2/male, 18 yrs, & as they were walking home they were confronted by unknown S1/male, 19-25 yrs, who pulled out a handgun & aimed it at the victim’s face. S1 told victims to give them everything they had. S1 threw V1 on the ground & rummaged through his pockets, taking the large amount of cash. S1 punched V1 in the face & took an i-Pod from V2 & fled. After speaking with V1’s guardian, officers again spoke with V1 & he now believes his friend, V2, set him up for the robbery. V2 knew V1 had a large amount of money on his person & usually takes a different bus than V1. V2 earlier bragged to V1 that he earns his money by robbing people or breaking into homes. Also, V1 did not see S1 take V2’s i-Pod.

27th Ave N & Sheridan Ave N Wednesday 4/27/11 2115 hrs 11-115689
V1/male, 46 yrs, met up with 3 suspects, males,20-30 yrs, to buy clothing from them. Once V1 sat in their vehicle, suspects attempted to rob him. V1 was hit in the back of his head by S1 as he climbed out of the vehicle to flee. V1 ran & S1 fired a shot at him. Suspects then fled in a vehicle. This case may be related to a shots fired call #11-115564. V1 was not injured.

Broadway Ave W & Penn Ave N Wednesday 4/27/11 2205 hrs 11-115812
V1/female, 14 yrs, was at the bus stop at the above location when she was approached by unknown S1/male, 19-20 yrs, & S2/male, 30-35 yrs, who forced her to give them her purse & cell phone. V1 reported the incident 2 hours after the crime. V1 was out past curfew, so she was cited & transported to the Curfew Center. No injuries.

V1/female, 22 yrs, reported that an acquaintance, S1/male, 40—45 yrs, came to her house & asked for V1’s mother, OT1/45 yrs. When V1 told S1 that OT1 was not home, S1 became upset & demanded his money, supposedly owed by OT1. V1 did not know what S1 was talking about. S1 pushed V1 against a wall & showed her a black handgun in his waistband. S1 grabbed V1’s cell phone out of her hand & took her Coach wallet containing $30 & ID. S1 fled the area in a white Ford Taurus. S1 was not located. V1 was not injured.

V1/female, 30 yrs, stated she got off the bus & was walking down the street when she was approached by unknown S1/male, 25-28 yrs, who grabbed the purse off her shoulder & walked off. V1 followed him for a few seconds, attempting to get her purse back. S1 then pulled a knife out of his pocket & threatened V1 with it. S1 then fled the area. Loss includes a small black purse & $692 in cash.

Emerson Ave N & Lowry Ave N Sunday 5/1/11 1935 hrs 11-120114
Officers were approached by V1/female, 16 yrs, who stated she was at the above location when she was approached by 2 unknown male suspects, 14-17 yrs. S1 grabbed the cell phone out of her hand, forcibly taking it away from her. V1 was also shoved. Suspects then fled on foot. Officers checked the area for the suspects, but did not locate them. V1 was not injured. The phone is valued at $100.

Broadway Ave W & Emerson Ave N Sunday 5/1/11 2220 hrs 11-120251
V1/male, 19 yrs reported that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by 2 unknown male suspects, 20-25 yrs, who asked him what he had on him. V1 said “nothing” & attempted to walk away from the suspects. V1 was punched in the head & face by both suspects, knocking him to the ground. V1 was able to get back on his feet & walk, but one of the suspects took his cell phone. V1 was hit several more times in the head & face by suspects. Suspects fled & were GOA.

36th Ave N & Fremont Ave N Monday 5/2/11 0116 hrs 11-120367
V1/male, 25 yrs, stated he was walking in the above area when he was approached by 2 unknown male suspects, 18--25 yrs. S1 approached V1 from behind & demanded money. V1 turned around when S1 demanded money & S2 approached V1 from behind & put something into V1’s back. V1 thought it was a handgun. S1 then removed $350 in various denominations from V1’s pocket. Suspects fled & were GOA. V1 was not injured.

11XX 21st Ave N Monday 5/2/11 1830 hrs 11-121207
Officers responded to the listed location on a robbery of person. V1/female, 15 yrs, stated that parties she visited at this location robbed her of a cell phone & package of cigarettes. Officers located AP1/ male, 18 yrs. V1 positively ID’d AP1 as the party who punched her repeatedly, forcing her to fall to the floor before unknown S1/male, 16-17 yrs, robbed her. Unknown S2/male, 16-17 yrs, also punched V1 before she had a chance to leave. V1 stated S1 & S2 fled the area on foot before officers stopped the group that contained AP1. AP1 was booked into HCJ for ASLT5. The other 2 suspects were not located. V1 had dried blood under her right eye & requested an ambulance. V1 was transported to the hospital.

34XX Girard Ave N Tuesday 4/26/11 1830 hrs 11-114364
Officers conducted a traffic stop at the above location on a vehicle with a non-functioning brake light. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver was ID’d as AP1/male, 19 yrs, & officer immediately recognized AP2/male, 18 yrs. AP3/male, 19 yrs, & AP4/male, 21 yrs, were the rear seat passengers. Officer remembered seeing AP2 in an officer safety bulletin & confirmed info that AP1 & AP2 were believed to be driving around with 2 handguns, looking for rival gang members. Officers removed the vehicle occupants & located a black semi-automatic handgun on the rear passenger side floorboard. All 4 AP’s were booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

Fremont Ave N & Plymouth Ave N Thursday 4/28/11 2353 hrs 11-116896
Officers observed a vehicle traveling at approx 80 MPH in a 30 MPH Zone. Officers caught up to the vehicle & stopped it at the above location. Officers observed the driver, AP1/male, 30 yrs, & AP2/male, 39 yrs, both in possession of open beer cans. Officers also observed 2 baggies of marijuana in the front cup holder. While pat-searching AP2, officer located a bottle of gin in his coat pocket & a loaded magazine in his pants pocket, along with a single live round. Officers had AP2 remove his shoes & found an unloaded .380 handgun inside. AP2 is a convicted felon & does not have a permit to carry. The gun was found to be a stolen. AP2 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons & PC Possession of Stolen Property. AP1 was booked in HCJ for 4th Degree DWI.

11XX Lowry Ave N Friday 4/29/11 1449 hrs 11-117539
Officer responded to a person with a gun call & observed a group of males on the sidewalk near 32XX Emerson N. One male matched the description given & when he saw the squad he walked into the yard at this location, but continued to look back at the squad. Officer motioned him to walk back to the squad & AP1/male, 13 yrs, fled, followed by AP2/male, 12 yrs. The AP’s continued to run as officer drove the squad & followed them. At one point, AP’s stopped & waited for officer to reach them. They were pat-searched, but no weapon was located. Officer checked the area where they ran & located an empty BB gun that looked like a Beretta 9mm handgun. AP’s were taken to the Juvenile Unit to be photographed & fingerprinted. Each AP was then transported home to be released to their parents with a citation for possession of a BB gun in public.

16XX Dowling Ave N Friday 4/29/11 2007 hrs 11-117863
An agent was on site at Folwell Park when she heard a BB gun being fired near the recreation building. Officer saw S1/male, 13-16 yrs, shooting a BB gun. S1 fled when he saw the officer. Officer traveled in the squad, looking for S1 but did not locate him. Officer checked the recreation center & observed several adolescents who fit the description of S1. Officer went back into the park to look for the weapon, but it was not located. S2/male, 13 yrs, took something from another boy & put it in his jacket. S2’s jacket looked weighed down & S2 was holding the bottom of it. Another Officer talked to S2 & looked in the room that S2 left. S2 was very belligerent stating he used real guns & that he was a member of a gang. No BB gun was recovered & S2 was told to leave the park.

28XX 4TH St N Monday 5/2/11 0357 hrs 11-120447
Officers were traveling behind a vehicle & could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from it. There was no other vehicle traffic in the area. AP1/male, 22 yrs, was the driver & failed to stop for a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted & officers recognized AP1 from past arrests & knew his DL was revoked. Officers observed an open bottle of Vodka in plain view behind the front passenger seat. AP2/male, 22 yrs, was the passenger & advised officers without being asked that AP1 put a handgun under the front passenger seat. AP2 also had access to the gun. Both parties were booked in HCJ for PC Weapons, as neither had a permit to carry.
